  • Glamping tents at a spacious, well-equipped Valencian Community site
  • Elche, Orihuela and beaches within a half-hour drive
  • Spectacular waterpark on site, plus restaurant, spa and activities
Now here’s a place that’s rather special… take a little look at the pictures of the waterpark at Kampaoh Crevillent and you’ll realise this is a place that’s really gone all out to provide a memorable experience for its guests. This is surely one of the most spectacular pool areas at any campsite in the Valencian Community area – the Polynesian theme weaves palm trees, statues and Balinese-style loungers in among the waterslides (some up to 12 metres high) and heated pools. It’s the kind of pool complex that can keep all ages happily amused for many hours – but if you require a change of activity, it’s handy to know that this large well-equipped site also has a gym, a spa, a games room, a sports field, a miniature golf course, a playground, a pétanque court… Kids still got some energy to burn? A busy programme of activities and games runs throughout the year for kids and teens. And in fact adults need not feel left out either, as there are things laid on for you too – think relaxation or fitness sessions, local produce tastings and themed dinners. This, of course, is for those times when you’re not hiking the El Hondo Natural Park, visiting nearby cities or hitting the beach… In all of this it’s handy to know you won’t have to allocate any time to setting up a tent, as you’ll be staying in ready-made accommodation that’s got beds made up, and plenty of furnishings provided. For eats and drinks, you can buy food at the supermarket and use the barbecue area or take a table at the restaurant or bar on site.

Local attractions

The waterpark on site is fabulous, of course, but if you’ve got real water babies in your travelling party you may want to embark on a tour of some of the other local waterparks, such as Aquapark Rojales (20 minutes’ drive) and Aquopolis Torrevieja (half an hour). It’s also possible that you might manage to drag them away from the pools with the promise of a trip to the beach – those in El Rebollo (25 minutes) and Arenales del Sol (half an hour) are popular picks. And although you can’t swim there, there are watery landscapes at El Hondo Natural Park (10 minutes), with walkways and observatories around the ponds and salt marshes. If you’d like a real change of scenery, there are several cities close by that are worth a visit, including Elche (20 minutes) with its UNESCO-listed palm grove, the religious attractions of Orihuela (half an hour) and the seaside city of Alicante (35 minutes), home to several interesting museums as well as a sandy beach.
