What customers say
This campsite gets rave reviews for its spotless, modern, and cozy washrooms, often called the best ever! Guests love the friendly staff, amazing views, and peaceful vibe. Families adore the working farm with animals. Pitches are usually roomy and flat. Despite minor notes on tight access roads or a wish for more play gear, most visitors rave and plan to come back.

Liked A well laid out site, plenty of room for our campervan. Very clean and tidy site. The toilets and showers were the best I’ve ever used very clean and nice big cubicles. We only stayed for one night but would definitely stay there again. I can well recommend this site.
Disliked Nothing to dislike.

Mary Jones primitive grass tent campsite (wild)
Liked I stayed in the wild camping part of the site, which was great and exactly what I was looking for. The facilities were spacious, modern, very clean and well looked after. The owner was lovely too, and I would definitely recommend this campsite.
Disliked The only thing I would improve would be to add a few charging points for phones and battery packs. Other than that, it was a great stay!

From the manager: Hello and thank you for your review and lovely comments
We do have charging points for battery packs and phones, they are in lockers inside the laundry room.
I am sorry you did not see them or mention it to us as we could have directed you to them.
We are glad you enjoyed our other facilities
Fantastic, quiet family friendly site.
Powered grass campsite
Liked Absolutely wonderful sight. Great location, lovely and quiet and true to all the other reviews the shower/loo facilities are excellent and very clean. The family shower facilities are fantastic also.
We loved the picnic benches dotted around the site for people to use. The pitch sizes are lovely and big and flat. The site isn’t huge so it still felt quite private. The farm animals are great for the kids.
Against what pitch up says, there is free wifi on site although we surprisingly had decent phone signal too.
We plan on coming back to the site again to continue exploring the area.
Disliked My only very minor point is that the playground equipment is more for younger kids but this didn’t have much of an effect on us as our daughter found plenty of kids to play with and had a blast.

Liked Wow what can I say. We had an amazing 3 night stay, had perfect weather and then the Eclipse and a sky full of stars!
Facilities are super clean and modern.
Onsite shop though small has coffee and a selection fresh produce as well as essentials (oh and lots of books to borrow/swap).
The kids play area and football pitch we're a great hit with our son and he made lots of friends. He also loved the animals barn where he spent lots of time feeding the goats, sheep and pigs ..oh and the wandering chickens.
We saw lots of jets/planes doing exercises which were met with great excitement from all the kids..and adults!
Nice dog walking area by the stream.
A great location to explore the stunning area of Wales it sits in, the drive is stunning no matter which direction you come from. We've visited Wales numerous times now and it's beauty never fades to us.
Thanks for letting us extend our stay and extra night to experience the perfect night sky for the meteor showers. Thanks for such a warm and friendly welcome. We'll definitely be back...our son has said it's his favourite campsite yet.

Liked Views of mountains....toilet and shower facilities were excellent.
Disliked Entrance into site very narrow.overall first impression with no meet and greet, and lack of information as to where to collect pitch details. Pitches very close together, especially the ones shared with tents.
Lack of supermarkets nearby
And finally, only one pub nearby, the cross foxes, where the dogs and drink were overly priced

From the manager: Thank you for your review, Gerald. We are pleased that you enjoyed the mountain views and rated our toilet and shower facilities so highly.
We were, however, very disappointed to see an overall score of 3/10, particularly given the reasons stated, and would like to clarify a couple of points for future guests reading your review.
Prior to your arrival, you were contacted by telephone and given clear instructions regarding your allocated pitch and the arrival procedure. You were also advised that an arrival map showing your pitch would be waiting for you in our clearly marked New Arrivals box. We operate this system so that guests can arrive and settle onto their pitch without having to wait for a member of staff, particularly when arriving outside reception hours.
Llwyn yr Helm is a small, family-run park in a rural location, and the mountain views and peaceful surroundings that you kindly mentioned inevitably mean that we do not have supermarkets and numerous pubs on our doorstep. Dolgellau is only a short drive away and has supermarkets, shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. Unfortunately, the prices charged by the nearby Cross Foxes are entirely outside our control and we don't feel this is a fair reflection on the quality of your stay at our park.
We do take constructive feedback seriously and continually look for ways to improve our guests' experience. We are therefore sorry that, despite enjoying our facilities and location, you felt your stay warranted a score of just 3/10.
Thank you for staying with us and we wish you well on your future travels.
