What customers say

This campsite gets rave reviews for its spotless, modern, and cozy facilities, with spacious showers. Staff are consistently praised for friendliness and helpfulness, along with beautiful views and a peaceful vibe. Great for families with farm animals, a play area, and dog-friendly spots. Minor notes on narrow access roads or occasional WiFi, but overall, it's super clean, well-kept, and welcoming – a top pick!

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Wonderful site, very friendly staff and great facilities (although lighting in washing up area could be a little better) but otherwise fantastic. We will definitely be returning.

Disliked Nothing.

Powered grass campsite

Liked Very well maintained site. Great shower cubicles with shower, sink and loo all together. Warden walked around and noise curfew was adhered to. WiFi good to have and unexpected. Nice raised stands for barbecue. We used it to keep our cooking stuff off the ground.

Disliked Liked it all.

Powered grass campsite

Liked Lovely location with fabulous views of the hills.
Good size pitches, with water taps near by. The children 16, 16 & 14 loved feeding the animals and visited them regularly through our short stay. Brill little range of necessities in the shop. Super clean toilets/shower/washing up faciclities. hot water and pleasant warm room, with the radio playing was a nice little bonus.

Local attractions

Start your hols in the past with trips on the steam trains at Bala Lake Railway and Fairbourne Miniature Railway, both less than 25 minutes’ drive away, then go zooming into the future at the Centre for Alternative Technology, an eco-centre teaching sustainable development methods. Budding angler looking for your fishing fix? Turn your boat to Cregennan lakes about 25 minutes from the site to cast a line – if nothing’s biting, there are scenic trails around the lake so it won’t be a wasted trip. Stay out in the open by joining the flock for a sheep trekking experience, also 25 minutes away, or dive below the earth’s surface and clamber into a boat at award-winning King Arthur’s Labyrinth. For something a little more high culture, the Machynlleth modern art museum is half an hour from Llwyn yr Helm and is well worth a poke around.
