  • Dog-friendly site on a working farm in Rhos on Sea
  • A 25-minute walk from the beach and a 10-minute drive from Llandudno
  • Surrounded by country walks and a short walk from pubs and a shop
Country walks, pub lunches and buckets full of beach trips… to list out every single thing you have to look forward to at Dinarth Hall Caravan and Camping would take some time, as this North Wales site is very conveniently based in the town of Rhos on Sea, 10 minutes’ drive from Llandudno and five minutes’ drive away from Colwyn Bay Beach. If you’re very much a countryside sort of person, it’ll be nice news that the site is on a working farm setting surrounded by fields and country walks with horses frequently passing by the site. There are just basic facilities, including toilets, showers, a washing-up area and a washing machine and dryer for laundry. There’s a lovely country pub just half an hour’s walk away for your supper or an American diner-style restaurant 10 minutes’ walk away in the other direction. If you’d rather sort yourself out, have a wander up the hill to the small shop 10 minutes’ walk away. The bus, which stops at the end of the road, comes just over every 10 minutes if you feeling like abandoning the car for the weekend. Not that you’ll need it that much if you’ve got beach days at the top of your agenda, because it’s only a 25-minute walk to Rhos on Sea beach and Colwyn Bay Beach is also within walking distance. If you’re driving to Colwyn Bay, there’s plenty of parking (and lots of ice cream vans to go with that). You may want to shift your watersports gear or bicycles down there, as there’s a cycling path along the front and often great conditions for some water activities.

What customers say

Dinarth Hall offers a back-to-basics camping experience on a working farm with spacious pitches and friendly staff. While facilities are dated, they're generally kept clean and functional, with hot water. Its location is praised for easy access to local attractions, beaches, and transit, though some found the site crowded with occasional noise. Good value for families and those seeking a relaxed, rural getaway.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked The site was very well presented and the was a warm welcome, toilets was clean and tidy, above all for £10 a night it was really good value for money. Well go again if I'm over that way.

Disliked The only thing I found, was the signs, wasn't clearly visible, I had trouble finding the shower, maybe making the signs a bit bigger and visible, but a very enjoyable night sleep

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Good location

Disliked there just aren't enough facilities to support the number of campers there (6 toilets & 5 showers for well over 400+ people), & what there is, was filthy & not cleaned or topped up regularly enough. Won't be rushing back sadly 😕

Liked Really easy to find and friendly straight forward check in. Site is very large and so plenty of space available even on a weekend in July. Facilities on site are well maintained.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked It is very friendly and does not come with a long list of ‘don’t’s

Disliked This is less of a dislike and more a personal preference. It feels strange to have so many domestic houses that have nothing to do with the site so close.

A dislike is that although the showers are good, plenty of hot water and a lot of space in the cubical. There is nowhere to clean your teeth etc in the shower block, you have to walk a couple of mins to the toilet block to finish off.

Our stay was spoiled by a group who were not close to us but they were making a lot of noise until 1am, I was surprised that someone closer did not tell them to keep it down.

Power optional cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked The site had plenty of room for your awnings etc. staff helpful. Buses came every 15 mins and the stop was at the end of the road. Plenty of hot water.

Disliked The shower block needs updating although there was plenty of hot water. The site is very large so 6 showers I would say was not enough. Toilets need updating. My husband said the male toilets we’re disgusting and again not enough for the size of the site.

Local attractions

Llandudno (10 minutes’ drive) is a cracking spot for a good wander, with shops, a pier, a promenade and a beach. You may spot a few goats wandering around the edge of town; they’ll have lost their way from Great Orme (20 minutes) just past Llandudno. The green limestone slopes of the Great Orme are not just for the goats, of course, with a tramway and a cable car providing access to the fab views from the 209-metre slope, a café or a playground. Back in Llandudno, get picked up by one of the open-top buses which run in summer from Llandudno Pier. They head over to stunning Conwy (10 minutes’ drive), past the spectacular 13th-century Conwy Castle, cobbled streets, bakeries and the cobbled streets typical of such a traditional Welsh port town.
