What customers say
Praise for spacious, tidy sites, quiet rural setting, friendly staff, good facilities & pizza bar. Kids' play area, nature walks, lakes popular. Some note dated/untidy washrooms during busy times. Great base for exploring.

An enjoyable stay overall.
Powered grass campsite (large)
Liked The overall quiet atmosphere, though we were staying Sunday to Wednesday and apparently it was very busy at the weekend as you would expect. Fields and pathways well maintained and the lakes were lovely. Saw the heron at Heron lake and the Pygmy goats were appealing.
Location quite close to Calne town centre made it easily accessible to us on bikes. We made use of the table tennis table 2 evenings running.
Disliked Toilet block was a bit ‘tired’ as the wash basins were rather old and worn, but the showers were spacious and the area was clean.

Nothing…
Primitive grass campsite (small)
Liked Nothing
Disliked Not as I expected, very over commercialised. It's the first campsite I've been to with security barriers at the entrance and exit. I couldn't wait to leave, and did so first thing.

Very good site.
Primitive grass campsite (medium)
Liked Site facilities. Pitch spaces. Site quality. There's a walking path around the perimeter of the site with a few sights like a den building area for the kids and a goat pen.

Overall great, better pitch selection when campsite was nearly empty.
Powered grass campsite (medium)
Liked The campsite itself, is beautiful , been many times as its where I stay when working down there.
Disliked Unfortunately the pitch is was given was very uneven and considering the other flat purchase were unoccupied I thought this was not thought about very well. I was puch 8 in paddock 6 fine for tents and cars but thought campers should be on the other side. Slightly disappointed

Primitive grass campsite (large)
Liked Pitch options and sizes. Quiet rural location, goats, geese, decent and clean facilities, friendly helpful staff. Motor museum easy walk.
Disliked Disliked nothing about the site. When the cows and bull were in the field next door it was harder to do a longer dog walk avoiding roads, although the roads are pretty quiet. The current nearest pub in walking distance doesn't do food, need to walk a bit further, if you are there on nights the on site bar is shut. Bikes would be handy if you are in a camper and want to leave it set up to go off site.
