What customers say

This large, well-kept site boasts lovely woods & roomy spots. Staff were a hit for being friendly & helpful, with clean amenities, a handy shop & café. Great location for exploring. Generally quiet, though can be busy/noisy at peak times. Some WiFi and portable toilet issues noted.

Main primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked The location was great. Amazing facilities and shop on site. Good food in the Snack Shack and it was nice it had a bar. Couldn't fault the cleanliness and staff were very friendly.

Disliked The rule for dogs being kept on leads wasn't very well enforced with lots of dogs running around freely whilst we were there.

Main primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Beautiful green location. Close to Corfe Castle and the coast. Good facilities, showers and shop. The sauna looked nice but I was unable to book to use it.

Disliked There was no wifi provided and mobile network for my network (EE) was very poor to non existent. I would have wanted to book the sauna but I was unable to as there was no internet.

Open Field primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Lovely large campsite with great walking and cycling paths nearby. Can walk or cycle to Studland bay from the site. Reception good and shop is well stocked. Clean toilets and showers at one field.

Disliked Bar/cafe. Food quite expensive and nothing special. You had to pay 50p extra for ketchup and mayo. Beer delivered with cap still on.

Open Field primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked The main facilities were always clean, and had plenty of availability. We pitched near portaloos for midnight trips instead.

Lots of pitching space, everyone keeps their distance.

There's a handy camp shop, and their Snack Shack for food/drinks.

Very friendly staff!

Disliked Nothing!

WiFi was pretty weak/non existent in the open field, but we didn't really need it so wasn't a problem.

Main primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked This was an incredible camp site. The staff, amenities and overall atmosphere made it perfect for taking my 4 year old son on his first camping experience.

Disliked Very specific but the shower cubicals were very small to try and shower with a child. Would be great if there was a larger shower cubical available (unless I missed it).

Local attractions

This site is in a truly cracking location – being on Dorset's Isle of Purbeck peninsula means there are top beaches in several directions, including Studland Beach (10 minutes' drive) with its fine sand and great views, Swanage beach (15 minutes) backed by a classic British seafront and Kimmeridge Bay (20 minutes), an attractive shingle beach surrounded by farmers' fields. Family-friendly days out are easy to arrange, as there are top Dorset attractions like Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre (20 minutes) and The Tank Museum (20 minutes) just to the north of Purbeck. Staying on the peninsula itself, you can ride on the Swanage steam railway (stations from 10 minutes' drive), explore the ramparts and ruins of Corfe Castle (10 minutes) or check out the inflatable assault course at Dorset Adventure Park (five minutes). The local area is a fantastic destination for walkers too, who have one of the easternmost (and, many say, most scenic) parts of the South West Coast Path just a few miles away. Top local rambles include the abandoned village of Tyneham (20 minutes) as well as the hilly but rewarding hike between Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door (25 minutes to the car park).
