What customers say
This peaceful, unspoiled campsite offers spacious fields with beautiful countryside and Dartmoor views, ideal for a back-to-basics escape. Reviewers praise the clean, efficient shower and composting toilet facilities, along with a basic but well-received wash-up area. The site is within walking distance of Chagford, offering access to local amenities and walking routes. Some minor issues were noted with signage and access for larger vehicles, but the friendly owner and stunning dark skies were highlights for many.

Ideal place to chill and get away from it all.
Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Very spacious field in the centre of beautiful countryside - lovely views. The site is very peaceful with occasional traffic noise from the road next to the convenience area ..... not enough noise to interfere with our stay and there was plenty of space to park away from that side of the field. The shower and composting toilet were simple, efficient and very clean. The wash-up area was basic but we'll received.
Disliked There was nothing to dislike about this campsite - it is basically just a field on a farm with the necessary requirements but it is very isolated. It's too far and too dangerous to walk to the small town of Chagford and we couldn't find a space to park.

Liked Beautiful location, amazing views, very simple but well done. Lovely hot shower and clean loo. Beautiful dark skies, loads of wildlife and very nice helpful owner Fred. 15 minute walk into Chagford and perfectly place for long walks. Had lovely swim at Chagford pool. Campsite a great find, real shame it’s not open for longer.
