What customers say

Great reviews for this friendly campsite! Staff are helpful, facilities (showers, dishwashing) spotless. Pitches spacious & level, lovely peace. Near Bude/beaches. Some road noise on A39 pitches, a few older facilities need updating, but cleanliness is top-notch.

Power optional cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Very friendly welcome. Good sized pitch. Showers and toilets were immaculate, lovely hot shower.

Disliked No bus into Bude! We walked in over the fields, took about an hour. Weather wasn't great so we got a taxi back. Next time we would take some bikes. Some road noise in the morning but it didn't bother us.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked We really like this site and have been there for two years on the run. It just gets better and better. Quiet site, extremely clean showers (lovely and hot) and toilets. Undercover washing up area. Small shop. Warm and welcoming greeting from Becky on arrival.

Disliked Some road noise but it didn’t bother us. Perhaps the site might consider making some hard standing pitches in the future as our pitch was very muddy, obviously no fault of the site but maybe something to think about.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your kind words and for choosing to return to our site for the past two years – it’s wonderful to hear you’re enjoying your stays with us. We’re delighted you appreciate the cleanliness of our facilities, the shop, and the welcome from Becky – we’ll be sure to pass on your lovely feedback.

We do have a small number of hard standing pitches and will be looking to expand this further. Your feedback helps us continue to make improvements, and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

Power optional cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked The site was very nice, staff very helpful and toilet/shower block very clean and tidy. It’s pretty crap

Disliked If they could sort the weather out that would have been perfect but saying that we managed to get out and about.

Local attractions

Start any stay here with an immediate jaunt into Bude – there’ll be something here for everyone. There are splashing times to be had on the town’s Widemouth, Crooklets and Summerleaze surf beaches (all about 10 minutes’ drive from base) and with a few hours of coasteering, paddleboarding or swimming in the sheltered sea pool. Anyone who prefers to stay on dry land can visit the heritage centre in Bude Castle or pass by the town’s oldest house, Quay Cottage. Keep one foot in homes of the past by tripping around stately piles and seeing how the one percenters of yore lived hereabouts: within 45 minutes of base, wandering the halls and rooms of Hartland Abbey, Pencarrow House and the Lawrence House Museum comes highly recommended. The stunning cliffside ruins of Tintagel Castle (believed to be the place where legendary King Arthur was conceived) and the pretty RHS Garden Rosemoor are within 40 minutes for easy scenic strolls and explores. There’s plenty to keep kids entertained too: The Milky Way, The Big Sheep amusement park and trips on the Launceston Steam Railway are within half an hour. If longer car rides aren’t a problem, Crealy Adventure Park, Exmoor Zoo, the Blue Reef Aquarium and the fab Eden Project are a little over an hour away.
