  • Within walking distance of St Helens beach and three miles from Ryde
  • Pool, waterslides and sports complex with bodyboarding and archery
  • Kids' club, evening entertainment and bar and diner with bay views
Tiddly-om-pom-pom along the prom as you admire the golden sands of St Helens beach, a mere hop and skip away from your tent at Nodes Point Holiday Park. On top of a fulsome complement of basic amenities, guests get free access to the pool, waterslides and sports complex, which offer everything from hydrodomes and bodyboarding to basketball and archery. Mealtimes at the Harbour Bar and Diner come with a side order of arresting views down to the bay. There are kids’ clubs for various age groups and the site’s Showbar offers a decent programme of evening entertainment too.

What customers say

Great spot with amazing views, close to the beach. Staff are super friendly and helpful! Campsite is generally clean with spacious spots. Kids love the activities. Some find showers a bit old and occasionally not spotless. Site can be busy and steep. Management is looking into improvements.

Liked Spacious pitches with plenty of privacy, great walking trails right from the site and a lovely welcome.

Disliked We don’t got any discounts about ferry and it cost a lot for us.

Liked Good size pitch, helpful wardens, brilliant location so close to the sea, shower/toilet block good. Lots of early morning birdsong and seeing Red Squirrels on site was super.

Disliked Need more hooks in the shower cubicles.

From the manager: Thank you, Jonathan, for your wonderful review! We’re delighted you enjoyed the spacious pitch, helpful wardens, and the beautiful location close to the sea. It’s great to hear you appreciated the shower and toilet facilities, as well as the early morning birdsong and spotting red squirrels — nature really is special here!

Thank you also for your suggestion about adding more hooks in the shower cubicles. We’ll be sure to pass this on to our facilities team as we continually look to improve our guests’ experience.

We look forward to welcoming you back again soon! ^EC

Powered grass campsite

Liked I really appreciated how tidy and well-organised the campsite is—it’s clearly very well maintained. The proximity to the beach is a major advantage and makes the location excellent. The staff were particularly impressive: supportive, friendly, and always helpful. The site was also pleasantly quiet, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Having a supermarket on-site is very convenient, and Nisa is a great addition.

Disliked The bathroom facilities would benefit from more frequent cleaning.

The external dishwashing area could be better protected from the weather and having access to hot water there would be a significant improvement.

Lastly, the restaurant experience could offer more variety for vegans.

Liked The location was excellent and the views breath taking. We loved the village of St Helens with it's bookshop, pub, village store and cafe. Excellent walks. The site was good and we were greeted by informative staff.

Disliked We arrived on the Thursday and the showers/ toilets were not cleaned until the Monday. The water in the showers was warm and a good pressure, but they should have been cleaned daily.

Liked From the moment we arrived at Holmsley, we knew we’d chosen the right place. Julie at reception was absolutely fantastic – warm, welcoming, and full of local knowledge that made settling in effortless. She really set the tone for our stay, and throughout the trip every single member of staff we met was excellent: friendly, helpful, and clearly dedicated to keeping the site running smoothly.

The campsite itself exceeded our expectations. The pitches were spacious and well laid out, giving everyone plenty of room to relax. Facilities were spotless, modern, and well maintained, which made the whole experience comfortable and stress-free. We especially loved the peaceful atmosphere of the site – no noise, no hassle, just pure relaxation in a truly beautiful part of the New Forest.

Waking up each morning to the sight of ponies and wildlife wandering past our pitch was magical, and it really added to the feeling that this site is something special. The location is also excellent, with easy access to walking trails, villages, and all that the New Forest has to offer, yet the campsite itself feels quiet and tucked away.

Overall, our stay was everything we had hoped for and more. With staff like Julie leading the way, Holmsley has that extra personal touch that makes it stand out from other campsites. We left feeling completely refreshed and can’t wait to return – highly recommended to anyone looking for a perfect New Forest break.

Powered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Well kept site with good clean facilities , small walk to the sea and a large area close by to walk the dog (ex golf grounds). Off site Cafe 100 mts away. There is a shop on site (Nica local) and sold most basics at reasonable prices.

Disliked Sloped pitch which soon became muddy when it started to rain.

Local attractions

With the lovely St Helens within strolling distance, visitors would be forgiven for staying close to home; however, other Blue Flag beaches such as Sandown are but a short drive away (and dinosaur fans will enjoy the animatronics in the pterodactyl-shaped Dinosaur Isle museum here too). The carnival town of Ryde with its pier and marina is only three miles from Nodes Point, and the neighbouring village of Bembridge has a pretty harbour and some great pubs and restaurants, as well as the only windmill remaining on the island. Fakenham Farm offers the usual farmyard friends, plus a smattering of more exotic species. Visitors will also be chuffed with the views offered by the magnificent machines of the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, which stages many special events in season and also hosts a falconry display.
