Local attractions
With the lovely St Helens within strolling distance, visitors would be forgiven for staying close to home; however, other Blue Flag beaches such as Sandown are but a short drive away (and dinosaur fans will enjoy the animatronics in the pterodactyl-shaped Dinosaur Isle museum here too).
The carnival town of Ryde with its pier and marina is only three miles from Nodes Point, and the neighbouring village of Bembridge has a pretty harbour and some great pubs and restaurants, as well as the only windmill remaining on the island.
Fakenham Farm offers the usual farmyard friends, plus a smattering of more exotic species.
Visitors will also be chuffed with the views offered by the magnificent machines of the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, which stages many special events in season and also hosts a falconry display.
Must see
- Dinosaur Isle (5.8 kilometres)
- Isle of Wight Steam Railway (7.8 kilometres)
- Royal Navy Submarine Museum (9.4 kilometres)
