  • Family-run and dog-friendly park in a calm countryside setting
  • Peppa Pig World and Romsey town centre within 15 minutes’ drive
  • Dog-walking area, café and open spaces for kids to play in
Treat yourself to a holiday at Hill Farm Caravan Park, a dog-friendly and family-run site a 15-minute drive from the popular Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park and less than 20 minutes from the numerous walking trails of the New Forest. A grand spot for keeping the kids entertained when they’re not fawning over their favourite cartoon character, this site has open spaces for kids to play in and a dog walk leading down to the site’s woods, where four-legged friends can frolic off-lead. If the sprogs (and dogs) in your life aren’t travelling with you, the park still makes a great base – it’s a top spot for touring the Test Valley (20 minutes’ drive) and Stonehenge (40 minutes) or visiting the cities of Southampton, Salisbury and Winchester (all within half an hour). Ferries set off from half an hour away if you’re off to France or the Isle of Wight. Staying local? The park’s handily placed for horse riding, walking or fly and coarse fishing breaks. Come evening, it’s a peaceful place as the no-noise policy after 11pm boosts the chances of a good night’s snooze. Head to the local pub, a 20-minute walk away, for supper and a pint just before bedding down; for breakfast and lunch, the on-site café serves up all-day breakfasts, light bites and homemade cakes. A shop on the grounds sells alcohol, groceries, newspapers and a small selection of caravan and camping essentials.

What customers say

A friendly, peaceful spot with clean washrooms. Guests love the roomy sites, quiet vibe, and helpful staff. The shop and cafe are great too. A few mention needed fixes or occasional bugs/noise, but most would return.

Jane G. 1 review

FHU cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite (premium)

Liked Very peaceful. Toilets showers and washing up area kept very clean and tidy.

Warden was lovely. We got there just after reception had closed. She was straight down after calling the number. Great info pack given. Shown to our pitch. Explained where everything was and where abouts on site she was. Said we could find her or ring her number if any problems.

We had booked a 10 x 10 hard and grass fully serviced pitch.
Pitch was great, hubby got it on the pitch and nicely lined up against the grass part for the awning. Awning was up in 15 minutes. Then our daughter said there seems to be lots of flies. My husband went to check and it was a wasp nest. We must of disturbed it putting up the awning.

Due to our daughter being allergic we had to move. Warden said we could pick any pitch. So we picked 1 on the opposite side just incase knowing about the wasps.
Friday night sat outside chatting and enjoying the stars.
We were out all day Saturday got back mid evening. Site was still very peaceful and not overly busy.

Sadly when everyone woke Sunday morning. My husband son and daughter had been eaten alive by mosquitoes. Spent the first half an hour Sunday morning killing them.

Lesson for next time book a pitch away from trees and bushes !!!

Would we go back ABSOLUTELY. It’s not there fault insects are insects. I’m hoping when we go back the wasp nest is gone as would really of liked to of stayed on that pitch.

There is a cafe shop and play area for children. We were up and gone both mornings before either had opened. My husband had looked through the window and said the shop looked pretty well stocked. Also the cafe menu looked good so will definitely try that next time.
We didn’t go down to the play area so unable to say how big or what’s there ect. Our children are older teenagers now so uninterested in those kinds of areas.

Fab car boot about 5 minutes drive away on Saturday mornings.

Really like that in the price the awning and up to 6 people are included in the price. Also dog friendly site and BBQ are allowed off the ground.

Disliked Wasp nest and mosquitoes (We know it’s not the sites fault. Insects live outside)

FHU cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite (premium)

Liked The quietness and owners were lovely. The cafe is very popular for visitors. Toilets were clean.

Disliked Not really dislikes - the shop was very sparse not well stocked - the grounds looked tired and in need of care and attention. Not worth the £40 per night

From the manager: I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy all aspects of the site, we are in the process of getting every thing done.
The shop is run independently and is being stocked up.

Local attractions

Once the kids have cuddled Peppa Pig at Paultons Park (20 minutes' drive), flock towards other animal-themed activities nearby such as Longdown Activity Farm (15 minutes) where families gather to watch the Friesian cows being milked, groom the ponies and feed the baby goats. Kids can’t get enough of creatures? Marwell Zoo houses more than 200 rare species, from tigers and snow leopards to rhinos and hippos, and the Hawk Conservancy Trust cares for birds in its combined 22 acres of woodland and wildflower meadows. Both are around half an hour away. If urban explores are on the agenda, Romsey (15 minutes) is the nearest market town for a wander round the shops, while the promise of a peek at one of Britain’s best cathedrals might be enough to lure you over to the city of Salisbury (25 minutes).
