Liked: Rural working farm, animals, dogs, chickens, cows, sheep, cutest lambs and donkeys, super friendly owners, basic site but we enjoyed, even got to see the farmer working his dogs bringing in the sheep in the evening, loved that! Pub nearby with a challenging walk so you earn your pint! Bus stop just outside to take you the nearby towns, Windamere and walk down to Bowness was lively, Keswick the other way, lived our stay thankyou

Liked: Absolutely loved our stay here. Louise greeted us when we arrived and was a lovely host. The location is amazing for walkers and with easy access to cafe and pub if needed. Loved the animals on the farm. Will definitely be returning. *****

Liked: An excellent location (cafe bar open until 9pm a short walk away) with a small but perfectly formed site. It is all hard standing (for vans) but it's such a beautiful area, who cares?

Birchell’s summer house microlodge
Liked: The site is very central to everything you could want.
The toilets were clean, there's water and a washing up station.
You have to be comfortable with a couple of free roaming but friendly animals.
The owners are so lovely, and very helpful
Disliked: The seal on the log burner is damaged and let's smoke through, make sure the fire is out completely before sleeping.

Liked: Location. Good walking from the door, pub 20 minutes walk away (on the flat!). Bus stop 3 minutes away for trips into Keswick. Lovely view. Facilities were clean and well maintained. It is a working farm so wakes early.

Liked: Very nice hosts. Direct access to walks (although strenuous ascent to Sticks Pass). Beautiful surroundings.
The services are basic and the shower costs 1£ extra, but was worth it.
Farm eggs and homemade marmelade for sale.
30 metres from a hotel with a café.
Expect a working farm: noises and smell of animals, dogs and chicken running around, people starting work very early in the morning.
Disliked: The road from Kelswick to Ambleside is about 200 metres away, there will be car noise.
Book direct, it's cheeper.

Liked: Loved the peace and quiet without the loud groups/ball games etc that you find on some of the bigger sites. The hosts were very friendly and although the facilities were basic they were clean and perfectly adequate for a small site.

Liked: Small, welcoming farm site with well spaced pitches for camper vans/motorhomes.
Very clean facilities
Disliked: In late April no sun in the early morning. It slowly creeps across the valley to the site.
