What customers say
This scenic, quiet campground has large sites, some by the water with fire pits. Guests loved the helpful owners and tidy facilities, especially the barn's showers, kitchen, and games. The honesty shop's a hit. Most found the compost toilets fine, but a few preferred the flushing ones uphill. Farm noise happened sometimes. Wildlife and nature are a big plus.

Good campsite needing a little upgrade to facilities.
Powered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked The campsite itself is really good, electrical hookups and the land that we had anyway, was flat. The stream (Croglin Water) running along side the campsite was a nice feature and has a nice spot for cold water dipping, there is washing up facilities for dishes etc close by with drinkable water and the campsite was quiet.
Disliked The main facilities (the good showers and toilets) are a bit of a distance from the campsite itself and up a steep hill from the campsites, there are some toilets and showers nearer, but its compost toilets which none of our party could really stomach the smell and the showers were pretty weak, I do believe the plan is to upgrade the compost toilets next year which would be a much welcome upgrade. The pond for fishing needs some TLC, the water surface is almost totally covered in Algea, and the hooks kept getting caught in the weeds and gunk at the bottom of the pond (bottom fishing for Carp), there is maybe only 2 spots for fishing and aren’t proper clearances, which is a shame, this pond could really be a feature of the campsite if they cleared all the surface algae and dense vegetation surrounding the pond it would be an amazing feature.

Fantastic site in a beautiful location
Powered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Fantastic campsite. Really quiet with lovely wild surroundings. Wee farm shop onsite up in the barn that sells what you might have left at home and some local produce. Juice, milk, meats etc and coffee. Clean toilet facilities and brilliant showers on site too with washing machines if you need it.Wifi is excellent up in the barn also.Brilliant pitches and plenty of space with fire pits and picnic benches for each pitch. Also a lake to fish for carp included. Overall a fantastic stay with family and friends and will return.
Disliked Compost toilets…the site had compost toilets at the pitches but clean flushing are just a 5 min walk (or drive) up the hill in the barn. Understand why the site had these trying to keep enviro friendly…just not for me or my family. Be great if there was the option of flushing toilets closer to site.

Powered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite
Disliked Eigenlijk was alles top. Als ik iets moet noemen, dan is het de afstand naar het toiletgebouw, hoewel dit een prima wandeling is. Beneden op het veld zijn alleen compost toiletten, die ook goed te gebruiken zijn.

Liked The Site was well spaced out, all the facilities on site made our stay very easy with an honesty shop in the cow shed, which meant we were covered when we realised we forgot a few bits! The whole site and all facilities were very clean and well maintained!

Powered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked absolutely beautiful campsite. The views are amazing full of nature and nature sounds we loved the sound of the stream surrounding the campsite. such a peaceful and beautiful place. very clean. Fiona the owner was so welcoming and happy to help and even came down to the camp to make sure the visitors were OK. Lovely campers to so friendly. we loved Nancy the farm cat she would always say hello. The showers were really clean and warm and no timer. There was free washing machine and dryers which always come in handy so you don't have to come home with piles of washing. Hair dryers provided with a get ready area. They had a games room with plenty to chose from. They had a shop and really low prices and with everything you need. The eggs especially the 2 year old hen eggs amazing so good. The sunset was beautiful from the hill on the campsite. we will definitely be back. There isn't one thing we could fault thank you for a lovely stay. The Hekkenberg family.
