What customers say
Woodhill Camping gets props for roomy sites, gorgeous country views, and owner Liz's welcoming vibe. Guests loved the top-notch amenities like spotless washrooms, and the handy vending machines with fresh milk and shakes. Great spot for exploring the coast and moors, super chill. A few noted limited showers when busy, but most raved and want to come back!

We would definitely stay here again
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Ideally situated near Whitby, very peaceful, surrounded by nature and very reasonably priced. Wash facilities were spotlessly clean if a little basic. Very friendly staff and the little vending machine shop looked very well stocked
Disliked Some of the pitches are quite steap so if your in a camper or roof tent bring your leveling blocks. Not a criticism your on the moors at the end of the day

Great quiet site
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Nice large pitches, well spaced out, good level ground. The facilities are clean and just enough for the size of the site. Vending machines are handy, great fresh milk for breakfast! Great as a base for local beaches/Whitby. Will definitely be back here again.

Lovely no fuss spot.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Pitch black skies at night (could see the stars). So quiet (before the dawn chorus) that you couldn’t hear a thing. Friendly owner, stripped back amenities. All you could want.
Disliked Toilets a bit snug!

Great campsite with good clean facilities.…
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Great campsite with good clean facilities. Liz was a super host and nothing was to much trouble. Lovely little find with ample space and all require basic amenities. The fridge and freezers were a fantastic addition.
Disliked Some people took full benefit of the fridges filling them with alcoholic drinks and bottles of wine. Seems a little selfish when others are trying to squeeze food in - but that's not the sites problem and I'm sure if I'd spoke to Liz she would have resolved it.

Fantastic campsite, with ample clean amenities.…
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Fantastic campsite, with ample clean amenities. 4x hot showers available you just need to position yourself correctly for the water flow as some don't have a straight flow. 4x clean and well stocked toilets - never ran out of toilet roll or hand towels Lizzie was always stocking them up. Dishwashing station available with hot water as well as washing airers and vending machines for sweet and savoury snacks, fresh milk and milkshakes and hot drinks. A wonderful little camp site. Nothing was to much bother. Hire price for any additional extras reasonably priced. Great value for money and large pitches.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Stayed for one night no fuss pick your pitch text owner when you arrive. Field immaculate, toilets and showers spotless, great area for washing up etc, freezers to use and vending machine for snacks. Able to have bbq & a fire. Hens joined us for breakfast. 1/2 hour to both Roseberry Topping for our walk & Saltburn for ice creams and fish & chips . Perfect

Fabulous find
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Fabulous find - I actually wanted to be closer to runswick bay but everything was already booked up and I’m glad as we’d never have stumbled across this lovely gem. Lovely quiet site, easy to pitch , super flat and perfect for kids to run about and make friends . Great value and Liz clearly runs a tight ship and is keen to make sure you have the best time possible . Vending machines selling local produce are the cherry on the cake. Will definitely be back
Disliked My only tiny comment was that it wasn’t clear if things would be recycled when you left rubbish . Some separate recycling facilities would be test
