What customers say
This well-kept, quiet campsite has spacious, level pitches with lovely country views. Travellers praise owner Liz's friendliness and helpfulness. Facilities are usually clean and fine, with popular milkshake, egg, and hot drink vending machines, plus fire pit rentals. Great for families; lots of room for kids to play. Convenient access to Whitby and local sights. Some mention shower water pressure and capacity at busy times.

Great site, would love to go there again.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Site is in a quiet, countryside location with easy access to nearby coast and to Whitby, Goathland (Heartbeat country) and to Guisborough.
Pitches were well allocated and a good size. Facilities excellent value for the price including fridge freezers for storage if required. Toilets and showers were kept clean by the hard working, very welcoming site owner Liz who was often around or contactable by mobile.
Good site for families with space for the children to play.
Disliked Getting stuck in a toilet because the next cubicle door flung open and the handles got stuck preventing the door of mine opening. Being claustrophobic to a degree, I panicked but another camper fortunately heard my shouts for help and rescued me! Not sure what can be done but just want people to be aware if you use the toilet next to the showers and it's windy!

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Pitch size is great, friendly staff and the little hut with coffee in it was brilliant and very well priced.
Disliked The showers were good until the site got busier then the pressure went bad and no hot water

Excellent rural campsite within reach of local attractions.
Ash bell tent (six person)
Liked Excellent format and a brilliant rural site.
We do have a tent of our own, but for convenience we opted to stay in their pre-erected bell tents. These were perfectly positioned for the kids to play safely in front. A great amount of space in the tent for 2 adults, 3 kids and plenty extra space inside to eat and play.
Dedicated parking alongside the tent.
Super easy process to check in.
The toilets and showers were nearby with vending machines too.
We appreciated the secure gate at the entrance for peace of mind.
We would absolutely return here again, either in the bell tents or our own tent again.
Disliked On a couple of occasions the toilet roll were not topped up, but you always had another toilet available to use. This is a very minor issue.
There was black dog hair across the floor of the tent; we just swept again. This is again minor so didnt feel the need to mention but just to be mindful if anyone did have allergies.
These are such minor issues, I still would absolutely go to this campsite again!

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Woodhill is small, basic, very well organised farm campsite on N.Yorkshire moors. It felt safe for children to run around. Places of interest on doorstep.
