What customers say

This well-kept campsite gets rave reviews for friendly staff, clean facilities, and lovely scenery. Guests loved the fishing lakes, roomy pitches, and on-site cafe/bar. Most feedback is great, though a few noted some road noise and could use better signage for amenities. It’s a top spot for a chill break, with many wanting to come back.

BumbleBee shepherd's hut

Liked The welcoming email with clear instructions and we both agreed the bed was very comfy.
Lovely view of lake before fishing people pitched up they tent.

Disliked We did get some people pitch up they tent in front of the shepards hut which did disturb our view.
The bin that was beside our hut was full.
Found getting into the top bunk wasn't easier maybe a ladder might help.

Power optional grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Exceptionally friendly & helpful staff.
Clean site.
Spacious pitches - flexible on where you are - we were taken to closest pitch to where our fishing peg was which was amazing.
Good quality facilities - toilets and showers great even on busy bank holiday weekend I didn’t have to wait for shower.
Fishing was great (according to son! He caught 3 big catfish and lots of smaller carp)
Lots going on around the site, we had carboot and family fun day while there.
Bar & restaurant on site brilliant again staff incredible, working so hard on a very hot & busy bank holiday. Prices were very reasonable.
Overall a very relaxed, happy vibe about this place - spacious and friendly. We will definitely be back soon!

Disliked Nothing - will definitely come back again!

Power optional grass tent campsite

Liked Absolutely fantastic site, we camped without electric and had a brilliant time. There was more than plenty of space so didn't have people on top of us and could have a raised fire pit for the cooler evening
The whole site was so well maintained and the facilities available were clean, tidy and really well kept.
The staff were all brilliant and super helpful.
Was lucky enough to pair our stay on a Wednesday so got to see Wheelie Wednesday in full swing which was awesome.
We fished a few times as well and had a absolute blast, lakes were really well stocked and again plenty of room to not be on top of other anglers.
We will absolutely return again!!!!

Disliked Nothing we disliked - however it would be good to have a small shop (if the opportunity ever arises) for essentials or fishing essentials - but there is a garage down the road should you need anything like bread or milk etc.

Local attractions

Head to High Lodge (half an hour’s drive) to kickstart your tour of Thetford Forest. There are all sorts of ways to become one with the forest, from hiring out a Segway, taking an archery lesson or finding your zen with forest yoga. Go Ape Thetford (half an hour) will require a little bravery and some acrobatic skills for its treetop courses and zipwires, but on the ground, there are three cycling trails and four footpaths to follow from High Lodge. If you’re looking to find some places where the kids are likely to be entertained, Banham Zoo (35 minutes) is one such place, as are Melsop Farm Park (35 minutes) and Church Farm Stow Bardolph (15 minutes), two farm parks with a variety of animals and farm-style activities. A day at the coast is also possible from this site… just pick your seafront of choice. Perhaps Hunstanton (55 minutes) and Cromer (an hour and 20 minutes) to the north, or Great Yarmouth (an hour and 10 minutes) to the east? Towards the coast is Bressingham Steam & Gardens (40 minutes), a nice choice to see working steam locomotives in the flesh.
