Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Nice and flat. Adults only and plenty of shade. There’s a handy Co-op just down the road
Disliked The only two toilets were also shower cubicles so if they were both occupied by people showering there was quite a wait to use the toilet. This is ok if the pub is open as there are toilets there. But the pub isn’t always open. Only cold water for washing up.
The chemical waste disposal is rather close to the washing up facilities and I observed a young person confusing the two when washing their frying pan!
Comparatively pricey

Liked Lovely clean facilities. À nice quiet site with plenty of space and we were permitted to have a fire on the ground. Friendly and helpful site staff too
Disliked The site sloped slightly and the only really level areas were round the edges. There wee plenty of edges though

Farm field unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked It was peaceful after the bank holiday people went home. Nice view of the countryside from the top of the field. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The showers were spacious and warm, but could do with somewhere to sit for older people.
Disliked Rather hilly. Even on a flat part we were on a slope. There’s nothing to dry hands on in the bathroom. There was no hot water in the washing up area.

Liked A peaceful site with a lovely river. It felt safe behind locked gates. The hosts were welcoming and helpful. There is a handy shop right by the gates.
Disliked The toilet and shower facilities were adequate but could probably do with a refurbished. It didn’t spoil our stay though. We’ve seen much worse elsewhere.

Coldstream, Scottish Borders, Scotland
Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked The grass was short and the ground quite flat.
Disliked The showers, although clean were way too small with nowhere, apart from hooks to keep dry clothes. The we’re almost to cramped to get in the doors and out of the two showers in the ladies (apart from the disabled shower) only one had a working lock. My husband reported the same lack of space in the men’s room and that the shower tray was dangerously slippery. The amenities block was protected by a number code but this was not illuminated at night, although there did appear to be lights available. Access to the block also took us through another camper’s pitch.

From the manager: Thank you for your comments .. We do take on board all comments .. For reference we do have extra singular shower units also available. I do believe the power to the lights had tripped during the time of your stay and we are happy to announce they were sorted the next day. There shouldn't have been a pathway through another campers pitch .. We do listen to all comments .. All the best, Team Coldstream ..

Unpowered grass tent site
Liked The site was easy to find. The cafe was convenient and the food reasonable. We enjoyed the biker atmosphere and all the bikes.
Disliked It’s close to a railway and the trains sound their horns every time they pass, which is not good first thing in the morning! Apparently there is wifi but it was down when we visited.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site (family)
Liked Lovely field and views. The facilities were basic but fine
Disliked The site was difficult to find. The Google map location link from the website wasn’t accurate. The washing up facilities seemed to be literally a bowl for use by campers. No hot water, no tap in fact. There were two toilets with showers in the same room so if two people were showering there was a long wait for the toilet!

Liked We liked the covered area where we could cook standing up. They also have an electric kettle for use by campers and a free device charging point and drying room. It was easy to find and a beautiful spot.
Disliked Only the midges were a problem on one morning, but it’s Scotland so…

Liked The barn and proximity of facilities to the camping area were good. Friendly, helpful staff. Good WiFi and free charging points.
Disliked The showers were a bit hit and miss. The one we used went from very hot to very cold intermittently and seemed to ignore the controls. Washing had to take place during the short period of temperature change!

Unpowered grass tent site (small)
Liked The helpful staff and the facilities were good. We needed a pitch near the facilities and the staff were very helpful in swapping us over. They have a small shop stocked with essentials too and there’s a communal barn where you can also have a fire if the weather’s wet (which it was while we were there). There’s a fridge and a freezer for ice blocks. A great stay.
