Pitches were excellent and private. Shower units first class. Food and hospitality at the pub and on site was second to none I have experienced.

Excellent place to stay, not thought about a pub site before, but it certainly had some benefits. Had a meal and drinks in the pub, very nice food, nice staff. Toilets and showers were good and very clean.
Took a bus into Stroud and Stonehouse from just outside the site, very handy.
Would certainly come back again.

A couple of downsides, the barrier system is not good, always had to get someone to open it, and there is usually a wait before we could get out, there must be a better alternative.
There is no drive over for grey waste, and the only way to empty is to use a very long extension hose. (Motor homes)
There is some road noise to be aware of, but if at the far end of the site, it is much quieter.

Nice little campsite, great for a stopover.
Very good pub, serving good food and drinks, albeit a little pricey.
Toilets and showers were exceptionally clean.

Neat, clean and tidy site in a pretty location with the river behind our pitch. The site was quiet with everyone observing the 10pm to 8am minimal noise rule. Although you can hear the road noise 24/7. The shower rooms were very practical, with a large shower, toilet and sink in each room, great for families as generously sized.
The adjoining pub had very helpful and friendly staff. We had our children’s birthday meal there and a breakfast, both times the meals were delicious, although service was quite slow.

The site had a barrier to allow only campers to access it, unfortunately it also had a height barrier which we could not fit underneath with our campervan. Each time we wanted to leave or enter the site we had to either wait for the site manager, who worked 1pm-7pm 5 days a week, or call the pub for a member of staff to open the height barrier. We were unable to leave before 9am and had to return before 10pm (as this was the pubs opening times) which we found very restrictive.
The showers were warm at best and sometimes just had cold water running. When asking the site manger about this she simply said have a shower in the morning when no one else has had one! We explained that if we had been out all day then we didn’t want to go to bed dirty. She replied there was nothing she could do about it.
Although the general site was neat and tidy the shower rooms were not cleaned very well. They were shut between 11am and 12pm everyday. I went in to use the toilet at 12.10pm and the cleaners were just finishing, but the toilet I went to use was still dirty. I also noticed there was excrement smeared on the side of one of the sinks for 2 consecutive days.
When booking I was asked to provide details of what we were staying in. I said we were bringing our campervan plus a 5mx5m awning, our allocated pitch was quite small meaning we were very close to our neighbour’s tent. Some of the other pitches were much larger which would have been much better for us.

We enjoyed the walks in the surrounding area and also the local pub.
Camping facilities clean.
Electric / water / toilet nearby to pitches.

Nicely kept site with easy access from The George inn rear car park. Shower block very modern with good heat/pressure showers.

Please put a toilet sign up to highlight the two toilets midway on the camp……I walked past to the main block numerous times before the site manager pointed them out to me.

I really don’t understand the need for the height barrier which can only operated by a member of staff. There is already a key card operated barrier to negotiate.

Very noisy road past the George which we heard at all hours of the day and night

The spacing was good between pitches with 2 pitches seperated by a hedge in between. The shower block bathrooms were luxury and I only had to wait a few minutes one day to use. It was well lit at night especially being a solo female trip to the toilet felt safe. Nice to have the riverside walk at the back of my tent and the pub garden in full sun when my pitch was shaded.
