Disliked: This park could do with some TLC in area, some outdoor lights weren't working especially the path up to the toilet facilities, hard standing pitches were small with no space around the van which got very muddy with the bad weather.

Liked: Good hardstanding pitch by the side of the river, spotlessly clean facilities and a friendly welcome. The food in the pub was also excellent (Thursday steak night👍)

Liked: the site was lovely and quiet, probably due to the time of the year. The toilet block was lovely and clean and we loved the security of the barriers. We did use the pub for breakfast, which was lovely. The warden was lovely and the staff at the pub were friendly.
I would recommend this campsite, there was a path to walk along the river however it was far too muddy to walk on this occasion.
Disliked: the pitch was quite small, even for our van (6m) so anything bigger wouldn't have been able to park up. We did notice 2 longer pitches, which would suit a longer van, but the pitches could do with being a bit wider. No TV signal at all. Wifi worked but wasn't very strong. We managed, as the site was quiet, but could be a problem if it was busier.
Good for a stopover/meal before onward journey. Great facilities.

Liked: Stayed on pitch 16 which was at the bottom of the site and farthest from the road. Very quiet and secluded spot. Meal at the George was typical pub fare and ok. We were impressed by the shower block which was well maintained and spotlessly clean.
Disliked: Take wellies as walk along riverside quite muddy when wet. No shops within walking distance as site on a busy road, so you are out of luck if you have forgotten any provisions and have no other transport.

I’m sorry to hear you haven’t enjoyed your stay, this is very rare. I would like to say that I think a 2 is very unfair on a campsite review looking at your comments. I’d also like to add you did visit whilst there was a severe weather warning in place so the campsite did have a lot more surface water at that time, this is out of our hands. Everyone has different opinions of course but this review is very surprising as we all take pride in the campsite and pub.
Thank you for your review, all lighting is being replaced this week, unfortunately as it’s February and it’s such a natural site there will be parts that are quite muddy and looking a little messy with all the rain we’ve had. The pitches are all slightly different in width but all accommodate for large vehicles. It’s unfortunate your stay crossed over with these problems, would be great to welcome you back!
