What customers say

Top-rated, clean, peaceful spot with great facilities & views. Friendly staff, big pitches, nice walks. Good for Lowlands exploring. Some grumbles about log cost, pitch numbering & bin access.

Camping pod (pet friendly)

Liked Beautiful campsite. Stayed in camping pod as special treat which was well equipped and we loved the use of the full kitchen. Toilet/shower facilities were lovely.

Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site (large)

Liked Very nice site clean and well maintained.
Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Nice level pitches
Loved the fairy woods.

Disliked Arrival time 2pm most sites we visit are 12 noon or 1pm
Departure time also early at 10am normally it 11am
The children's play area could have some more activities in it

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We have thought over our timings and have found our timings to work best for our site. We have to consider the change over time, full site clean up and the staff we have to facilitate this. We couldn't facilitate a 12 noon or 1pm check in I am afraid or a 11am check out. We hope you will come back again. Sorry about the timings and as far as we know, we do not plan on changing this in the near future.

Great little site for myself and my granddaughter to spend a night.

Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site (large)

Liked Easy check in.
Good size pitch.
Well maintained camping area.
Great toilet and shower facilities.
Park area for kids.
Forest walk with fairy houses.

Didn’t use hot tub or sauna but they looked great.

Disliked Internet signal wasn’t great and no WiFi which would have been handy for granddaughter to watch a film on iPad at bedtime.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your review. I am sorry about the wifi. We are in the country and so far aren't able to offer wifi. I hope this will change. We are so pleased this hasn't put you off in returning.

Liked Fab stop off on the way to the Highlands. The site facilities were incredible and the kids loved the space to play football. We’d love to come back and stay longer.

Local attractions

Glasgow (20 minutes’ drive) is home to cracking masterpieces in Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, where you can easily spend hours – and combine it with a visit to the exotic Burrell Collection (both 30 minutes) or hands-on Glasgow Science Centre (30 minutes). Edinburgh (an hour to the centre) offers a handsome castle, buzzing bars and busking in the Royal Mile, while Stirling (25 minutes) has a photogenic castle of its own, as well as the dramatic Wallace Monument (30 minutes). Closer to base camp, take the kids to see birds of prey flying at World of Wings (five minutes), and all the family can splash around in the pools at The Time Capsule (15 minutes). Save the soft-play centre at Adventure Planet (15 minutes) for a rainy day, and if that doesn’t tire everybody out, then try a visit to Footgolf Cumbernauld (five minutes). For outdoor adventures, jump in the car and head to the Trossachs National Park, criss-crossed with walking and cycling routes, or stop off at Luss on Loch Lomond (both an hour), for a high-speed boat cruise along the shoreline.
