What customers say
Great spot near attractions, with a decent pub. Staff get a big tick for being friendly. Sites are roomy & flat. Toilets are clean but a bit basic, could do with a spruce-up, especially the lights and heating when it's cold. Road noise pops up sometimes.

A really good site but just an unlucky bad experience for us
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Nice big area and reasonable facilities for the price. Really good value for money. Warm welcome when we checked in
Disliked A family next to us were allowed onto the site at 10:30pm to start pitching up their tent. They had their car engine running for 45 minutes to use their headlights and kept us all awake banging in their tent poles until 11:30pm! It was really frustrating and we all ended up having a really bad and short nights sleep. A shame as spoilt our trip to the tank museum the next day too as we were all so exhausted.
I don’t know the circumstances as to why the family were so late arriving, I just think there should be a cut off though, like most other sites we’ve stayed in.
We did wonder if the pub owners even knew they’d come in so late.

Pitches around edge of spacious, flat, grassy field where kids can play
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked The field was a lovely size, and it was nice that the pitches were stationed around the edges with the centre left clear for games etc. The children made good use of this space! The pub and its garden were nice too. The village itself was delightful and it was a nice walk through the rec and village play park to get to the village shop. Plenty of footpaths all around.
Disliked The wash block and drinking water tap were near the pub and there was nothing at the other end of a field, which meant a long trek if you were positioned at the far end. There was no choice of pitch and no option to move if you wanted to go to a different one. The toilets/showers each had a complicated door code and it was impossible to remember them all, so you had to always keep the codes on you. The lights in one of the wash blocks didn't work so I had to shower in the dark! The main road is a bit noisy if you're pitched close to it.
