  • Scenic site filled with flowers under 10 minutes' drive from Newquay
  • Two lakes for coarse fishing plus nature reserve
  • Heated pool, crazy golf, playgrounds, games room and licensed shop
It’s easy to see why so many people come back to Trevella Holiday Park every year. Set just outside of Newquay, under 10 minutes' drive from its centre, this fabulously floral site has been giving a warm welcome for more than 50 years. The grounds are blooming lovely, with fishing lakes filled with lilies and a wide range of facilities. Little buds can shoot around the heated outdoor pool, paddling pool, crazy golf, games room and playgrounds for different ages. There’s free coarse fishing in the two lakes, a pretty nature reserve to explore and a licensed shop on site, too. The roomy pitches sit within handsome parkland with access to high-quality amenities, including family bathrooms, baby changing and a laundry room. As well as being near to lively Newquay, Trevella Holiday Park is in a good spot for beach days. The nearest is Crantock beach, five minutes' drive away. Perran Sands, Holywell beach and Perranporth beach are all within a 15-minute drive of the site.

What customers say

Great spot near Newquay and beaches, staff are top. Facilities mostly clean, though a bit old-school for some. Pub, shop & fishing lakes are a hit. Watch out for muddy spots and iffy shower temps/pressure in the wet. A bit of noise now and then.

Liked Not much

Disliked Very large. Just a big field with rows and rows to pitch on. No borders/bushes to separate pitches. So no privacy. Very expensive for what's on site.

Liked We chose this site for the location mostly, you can access Crantock estuary and beach from here easily enough. It is a reasonable walk that is very enjoyable.
If you love a good walk, this is a good spot.

We liked the dog washing area - very handy to wash the dog off as he was covered in sand and estuary after the walk.

The washing up areas were clean and tidy with useful drainers provided.

Upon arrival the reception staff member was professional and thorough with giving us maps and information we needed.
We also needed to change pitch half way through our stay as we were on a slope and it was affecting our fridge. The reception staff kindly let us move to another pitch which was not being used without extra charge.

Disliked This campsite is very noisy at the end of the day and evening ++.
Don’t expect a relaxing evening by your camper/tent here.

The toilet and shower blocks were not very pleasant, they are not cleaned regularly enough and the showers need updating. The shower button press is tiresome after a while, it lasts about 4 to 5 seconds, a little bit annoying if you are washing your hair.

We were very shocked to see that there were no recycling facilities whatsoever, quite shameful for such a large campsite.

Overall:
This campsite is ok. We would not choose to stay here again though unfortunately. It felt more functional than enjoyable. We stayed in much nicer and cheaper campsites on this trip to Cornwall.

Liked We were placed in an area that was more quiet and we very much appreciated that as come 10pm we were all ready for lights out.

Disliked Really disappointed with the facilities. The ladies toilets were disgustingly dirty. Used sanitary products left on floor and fecal matter on walls. Showers were disappointing, going from cold to hot or vice versa every time you pressed the button. There was two sinks, floor around flooded every time I went into the bathroom. No real space for drying hair or getting ready. The facilities are quite dated and in need of modernisation.
Spoke with other people who had made complaints too about the facilities and I was told that the other toilet block was even worse.
We booked two nights but left after one as there was no way I was using the facilities again. To give them credit, once complained they did send someone over to clean again and explained that they had guests who were being less than respectful.
Also to note, the gents toilets were not in the same state as the ladies, no complaints from our party in this regard.

Liked Friendly staff and good overall atmosphere, shop, bar and food truck on site, large fishing lakes. Good location for bus access into Newquay and crantock.

Disliked Pitches very close (tent to tent), pitches face onto gravel track not grass (no space for children to play), dated and temperamental shower facilities- very hot/ cold, showers turning on and off of their own accord.

Liked We had a lovely short stay at Trevella Holiday Park. The park is beautiful, peaceful and very well maintained, with clean facilities and lovely green surroundings.
The location is fantastic, especially for Crantock Beach and Newquay, and there are plenty of beautiful places to visit nearby. We really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere while still being close to everything we needed.

Liked I’ve been in winter and Summer. The facilities are decent. The shop is good. The walk to the beach lush. The option of the food truck.

Disliked The booking system for the pool.
No pool shower so the water seemed filthy. (Especially kiddy campers that might not shower at all!) Expensive WiFi option.

Liked Loved the holiday, everything well thought out the staff were so friendly. The pool was great and the food truck for when we were lazy. Well stocked shop (although not for camping essentials like pegs and gas). Close proximity to Newquay and crantock. Pitches well maintained. The shop staff were so lovely.

Disliked The showers and toilets were disgusting. I appreciate the people using them we’re disgusting leaving them in that state but the cleaning regimes needed stepping up with the amount of use. I also think the volume of people there were too many. Music from neighboring tents affected our evening’s entertainment and enjoyment.

Liked Wonderful park with a great pool, brilliant play areas, fishing lakes, and a lovely coastal walk to the beach.

Disliked The ladies' toilets by Piskies Bar are dated, leak from the bases (the same one that was out of order last summer's also out of order this summer), none flush properly, and haven't been modernised like the gents.

Local attractions

A quick meander along the verdant country lanes and pathways around Trevella can lead in various directions: a historic smugglers’ inn, a beach, Crantock’s thatched cottages and pretty village church, or to the Gannel estuary to fish, paddle, birdwatch or make the short hop on the ferry to Newquay. The latter probably needs no introduction, but on top of its famous beaches, it has a zoo, aquarium, farm park, boating lake and miniature railway – plus swimming pools (with flumes) and golf courses. This being Cornwall, visitors will find no shortage of ace attractions less than an hour away. Recommendations include losing oneself in the gardens at Heligan, taking in an atmospheric show at the open-air Minack Theatre, on the cliffs overlooking the sea; heading into the Eden Project’s massive crater, to examine the exotic flora in the jaw-dropping megadomes; and some painterly perusal at the Tate Gallery in St Ives. Then there are adventure parks, National Trust properties and open gardens galore; plus a lively programme of local land- and sea-based events, from festivals to carnivals, and regattas to traditional Cornish gig racing.
