  • Small family-run park five minutes' drive from Looe and Seaton beach
  • A 40-minute drive from the Eden Project and 45 minutes from Fowey
  • Bring binoculars, buckets and spades and barbecues
Bring binoculars, buckets and spades and barbecues… they’ll all come in mighty handy during a stay at The Oaks Holiday Park, a relaxed rural site five minutes’ drive from Looe. Those binoculars are to help you get a closer look at the wildlife that often passes by this corner of Cornwall – sparrowhawks, kestrels and barn owls can often be spotted flying over the park and the adjacent Duchy woodland. You may see a deer or two in the fields surrounding the site too. The bucket and spade are essential items for an outing to the beach – Looe has a fine sandy specimen to play on, and there are plenty of other options along the Cornish coast (or back over the border into Devon). Not in the mood for sands? This part of Cornwall’s stacked with stuff to do, including the famed Eden Project 40 minutes away by car. And the barbecue? Well, clearly that’s for cooking up tasty dinners out in the fresh air – you’re most welcome to do so on site, and with luck you may be treated to one of the spectacular sunsets that often grace the sky around here. (The sunrises are also renowned to be equally pretty, if you’re into the early shift).

What customers say

A chill, tidy park in gorgeous country with great views, perfect for a kip. Amenities get a thumbs-up, with a few spiffing new ones. Sites are roomy and flat, plenty of astro-turf to stretch out on. Dogs welcome, heaps of good walks. Staff are legends, always keen to help. Access road’s a bit tight, but the quiet spot and closeness to Looe are big pluses.

1 bedroom camping pod (pet friendly, deluxe)

Liked Lovely clean pod, with everything we needed. Quite site with lovely views. Scones cream and jam and some milk was left as a little treat for us.

Disliked Required to drive out to get to local places. No places on site to let dog off lead.

Liked Have stayed here 3 times now a week at a time and we will be booking again for next summer . Its quite and spacious even when fully booked. We are a large family with disabilities and we were all able to access facilities even when using a mobility scooter.

Powered grass and gravel motorhome site

Liked We liked everything about the site, from the clean showers and toilets to the washing up area with actual HOT water yo wash up! Not many site actually have that.
Very quiet site and even better you can drop your laundry off to be washed and dried for £10.
Will definitely come back.
Thanks again

Powered grass and gravel motorhome site

Liked Very quiet campsite and toilets were clean. We didn’t really see any staff at all. Name on the board worked well as you didn’t have to stress what time you arrived. Also close to Looe centre. So quick drive in which was very handy. Pitch size also good with own water and electricity.

Disliked We stayed with children and there was nothing to do it is a very basic campsite just a pitch and toilet facilities with a small sink lower down the site for pots and pans which is fine if you fancy a quiet night. The sink where you wash your pots and pans should have a light especially if you end up doing your washing up later.

Powered grass and gravel motorhome site

Liked easy access, quiet, good showers and toilets on site, good sized pitches, electric set up, beautiful scenery, good location to venture out, really good camp site, we took our van and it was just right.

Disliked toiletries had not been replaced in toilets for the weekend which is fine if you have your own like we did, but not everyone would have

Local attractions

Start your stay with a wander around Looe, taking in the harbour and unusual banjo pier before settling on the sands for the day. The South West Coast Path runs through the town for folk in search of a ramble with a sea view, and the harbour’s full of boats to book for fishing trips to hook mackerel for the barbie, or to see what critters are swimming below. If you’d like to see more underwater beasts, there are many in residence at Fowey Aquarium (40 minutes). For landlubbing creatures, it’s a 25-minute drive to view an assortment of animals at Porfell Wildlife Park & Sanctuary. The famed domes of the Eden Project (40 minutes) are famed for a reason – a visit here makes a fab day out wandering among all manner of weird and wonderful plants from across the planet. Green-fingered folk might also like to check out the 200-acre Lost Gardens of Heligan (not actually lost, but off the B3273, 50 minutes away).
