What customers say
Campers rave about Claylands' spotless grounds, cosy facilities & ace staff. On-site food & bevvies get a big tick. Some found toilets a trek from their spot & road/train noise was noted. Power payments & shower temps had minor hiccups. Still, most keen to come back!

Great site, lovely facilities, family friendly. Trek to the toilet!
Powered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Loved the location and having the river and pub on site was amazing!!
Also, having a park for the kids was a massive bonus.
Disliked Only issues were that the toilet and shower block was right up near reception and the tent pitches were the furthest away that they could have possibly been. We still had a great experience. Weather always helps! Had glorious weather for the whole weekend. Not sure I'd have enjoyed the trek up to the toilets if it was pouring down with rain!

Quite a pleasant surprise awaits you!
Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site
Liked Great welcome on arrival and located pitch No 6, one of the 6 available for overnighters when it’s quiet. There are plenty of other pitches further in the site all nice and large when busier.
Bonus was a proper restaurant and a good bar.
Dogs allowed in the carpeted bar area to dine with owners. Evening meal excellent and good value.
Breakfast was available in the conservatory (no dogs) which has exceptional country views, make sure you have breakfast which was first class and quality ingredients and presentation excellent.
I work in hospitality in Central London in 5* hotels and this kitchen (Darren) gives them a good run for their money, well done. All staff that I met were genuinely very engaging and friendly.
Steff you would be catch for any of the London hotels front of house.
Whoever is training the staff here is doing an excellent job.
A refreshing experience and I will certainly be returning here, a real gem
Disliked Nothing, a very well kept tidy site.

Excellent site close to M6.
Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site
Liked Excellent site, very close to M6 so convenient stop off on long drives. Very pleasant and helpful staff, well maintained site. Bus stop at the end of the lane means that you can leave your vehicle behind.
As it is so close to M6 the sound evident but only background noise and not intrusive.
WiFi was a bit variable but not a major issue.

The park for the children was…
Powered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked The park for the children was fantastic. The fishing lakes were a success with my children (although their bags did come back full of dog poo). Spacious area for camping, lots of lovely wildlife around.
Disliked The toilet block being so far from tent area. I feel they could be closer to those camping instead of near the caravans!
The noise at night, the noise from the electric pylons. The noise from the train line. I know it can’t be helped but did cause us to leave early, along with the dog poo mess!

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We are very sorry the fishing experience was spoiled by dog poo. We do provide free poop a scoops for everyone that has a dog and ask owners pick up after their pet. We will ensure we up our checks that we do undertake daily.

Liked The site was really clean and well kept. The facilities were immaculate every time we went. The park is right next tent pitches which was perfect for us with the kids. The location is great for nipping out with the kids, wallings, billy bobs, Morecambe, Blackpool. Also strongly recommend the stepping stones on site. The staff were extremely accommodating and the food was great.
