Pitches around the exterior of the field

Pitches for all sizes and shapes

  • Quiet family-friendly pop-up site in the Lake District National Park
  • Derwentwater 10 minutes’ walk; Keswick shops five minutes’ drive
  • Activity centre next door and River Greta strolls from the pitches
A handy five minutes’ drive from Keswick shops, tearooms and pubs in the Lake District National Park, the spacious pitches at pop-up Keswick Camping are new for 2025. There’s certainly plenty to do here, with an activity centre on site, tennis courts within 10 minutes’ walk and a local golf course (10 minutes’ drive) nearby too. Derwentwater (10 minutes’ walk) is also close at hand for sailing, kayaking or paddleboarding plus views of the photogenic slopes of Catbells, or you can have a quiet ramble with the kids along the River Greta, which runs alongside the pitches. This pop-up site is set up for families, so if you’re looking for rowdy late nights it is not the place for you. The camping field has room for kicking a ball around, and you can soon be out in the countryside to give any dogs a stretch of their paws. As it also has a back-to-nature, adventure camping vibe, there are few facilities – no electric hook-ups, showers or cooking facilities – but there are spotless separate loos for men and women, and standing water taps around the perimeter of the field.

Unpowered grass and earth tent site

Liked De mooie staanplaatsen.
Goede sanitaire voorzieningen
Dichtbij het centrum en enkele bezienswaardigheden.

Disliked Vrij te kiezen plek in plaats van verspreid te staan gaat iedereen langs elkaar. Helaas dus ook de lawaaimakers

Liked Great spot, 8 minute walk from the centre. Clean and tidy. Just basic toilets and wash basins, all you need for a night or two really.

Unpowered grass and earth tent site

Liked Conveniently located very close to the centre of Keswick and a stones throw away from the C2C railway line.
Toilets are kept clean and tidy.

Disliked Would greatly benefit with a shower block and maybe a washing up area, however, for a pop up campsite everything was good.

Unpowered grass and earth tent site

Liked we were greeted on arrival after contacting using mobile number, we were shown where toilet block was and then told we could choose our own pitch and drive the car on until we had unpacked. we were told that they were having some work done and some of the ground had been dug up- didn’t affect us at all but the gent seemed very apologetic!
the gentleman also came over to check we were managing okay pitching our tent up- very friendly very clean facilities will definitely be back here :)

Unpowered grass and earth tent site

Liked Great little camp site, basic but perfect for what we needed. Ideal for one night but would need showers to extend. I'm actually local and it was cheaper to camp for the night than get a taxi to and from Keswick

Unpowered grass and earth tent site

Liked Nice campsite, had no issues with other campers. All very respectful. Toilets are clean and campground is well maintained.

Disliked No washing basin for pots and pans. Close to the main road so traffic is fairly loud all night.

Unpowered grass and earth tent site

Liked The site was clean and had space for the advertised pitches. A very short walk to the town center and easy to find. Most other site users were quiet and friendly. The toilets were very clean and the site had ample bins for waste. Would stay again.

Disliked The car park is quite small (might be worse at the moment due to school holidays). a few site users were quite disruptive at midnight coming back from the pubs, but that feels like pot luck of who's staying there. Only one tent out of around 20 was noisy, the rest were very quiet. It's a bit confusing on how you check in - no instructions on how you check in when you arrive and no indication of which pitch is yours.

Liked Great location ,handy for town centre

Disliked We had 2nights the Friday was lovely with everyone respecting each other other nice n quiet , but on Saturday it was a different story with people up till 4am .I think a quite time would be a great idea and it gets policed!

From the manager: Thank you so much for your feedback and for staying with us! We’re glad you enjoyed the great location and had a peaceful Friday night. We're really sorry to hear about the disturbance on Saturday, that’s certainly not the experience we aim to provide.

Just to let you know, our quiet hours are from 11pm to 7am, and we do our best to ensure they are respected. We’ll be following up on this to make sure all guests are aware and that these hours are better enforced going forward.

We really appreciate your comments and your recommendation, and we’d love to welcome you back again soon!
