  • Dog-friendly Norfolk site with relaxing fishing lakes and a woodland
  • Half an hour’s drive from Thetford Forest’s Go Ape and High Lodge
  • Catfish, carp, tench, silverfish and more over five well-stocked lakes
Anglers and adventurers, get ready, because Fendicks Fishery is a stunning Norfolk site with five well-stocked fishing lakes and a mature woodland, just half an hour’s drive from Thetford Forest. Out there, there’s plenty of adventuring to be done, with High Lodge and its Go Ape centre as a good starting point. There's a well-balanced atmosphere at this site, as the team have worked hard over the years to manage and landscape the grounds so that there’s a good combination of nature and fishing. Anglers have access to five lakes with a variety of fish up for grabs, including catfish (weighing in at over 95 lbs), carp, tench, silverfish and more. With 32 acres of mature woodland surrounding the lake, peaceful and scenic are two words that accurately Fendicks Fishery. Plus, there’s a splendid set-up in terms of facilities, with a toilet and shower block that’s kept toasty by underfloor heating, a washing-up area, washing machines, information room, Elsan points and the reception area. All the grassy pitches have access to electric hook-up (how handy). When you’re not unwinding around the acres of space around this well-kept site or spending an afternoon fishing, you could take off onto the miles of paths around Thetford Forest or head further out onto the Norfolk coast, which will take you around an hour’s drive or just over.

What customers say

Campers rave about Fendicks Fishery's top-notch staff & spotless grounds. Fantastic fishing on five lakes, plus great food at the restaurant. Lodges & pods are super clean & comfy. A few road noise and minor facility niggles noted and being sorted.

Power optional grass caravan site

Liked spacious pitch. Easy check in. Clean. Lovely surroundings and bar / cafe on site good

Disliked the optional electric actually resulted in an extra £10 / day charge and we were not excessive in use! So overall cost was much higher than we anticipated. Showers and toilet block - clean and warm , but shower could do with more oomph!

Power optional grass caravan site

Liked Lakeside pitches adjacent to our swim are a real boon. Other facilities are very good. Added to the fact that I'm a biker, seeing 600+ bikes on Weds was brilliant. We met so many like minded people, it was a superb mini-break. Lisa and her team spinning plates to keep everyone happy. Well done to all.

Butterfly shepherd's hut

Liked This is the 2nd ‘hut’ we’ve stayed overnight in while fishing during the day. The huts have been in different locations so we’ve fished accordingly. We’ll be back. Hubbles breakfast is highly recommended

Power optional grass caravan site

Liked Staff are very very friendly and do their very best to accommodate you and make your staff a lovely experience. You can pitch beside your swim, the bar/ restaurant is great and has a lovely warm friendly atmosphere, it feels like your local and staff feel like friends. I really enjoyed the fishing, I’m not used to day ticket fishing, but it was a nice change; I will definitely be going back👍🏻👍🏻

Disliked Nothing really, could probably do with more showers, but I tend to shower before bed so they were always empty.

Local attractions

Head to High Lodge (half an hour’s drive) to kickstart your tour of Thetford Forest. There are all sorts of ways to become one with the forest, from hiring out a Segway, taking an archery lesson or finding your zen with forest yoga. Go Ape Thetford (half an hour) will require a little bravery and some acrobatic skills for its treetop courses and zipwires, but on the ground, there are three cycling trails and four footpaths to follow from High Lodge. If you’re looking to find some places where the kids are likely to be entertained, Banham Zoo (35 minutes) is one such place, as are Melsop Farm Park (35 minutes) and Church Farm Stow Bardolph (15 minutes), two farm parks with a variety of animals and farm-style activities. A day at the coast is also possible from this site… just pick your seafront of choice. Perhaps Hunstanton (55 minutes) and Cromer (an hour and 20 minutes) to the north, or Great Yarmouth (an hour and 10 minutes) to the east? Towards the coast is Bressingham Steam & Gardens (40 minutes), a nice choice to see working steam locomotives in the flesh.
