What customers say
Bonza spot by the river! Super friendly owners, ample sites, and close to a pub/shop. Facilities tidy but a bit old. Great for families with the stream & playground. Book the pub ahead & watch out for the odd loo whiff.

Fantastic site in an idyllic location, friendly stay & a peaceful stay
Powered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked The pitch size and location was fantastic, right next to the stream which gave our children loads of things to do searching for crayfish and smaller fish. We were even able to catch quite a few!
The location is so peaceful, giving us a fantastic opportunity to just disconnect from the hustle and bustle of life and concentrate on what's important.
The site owners could not have been more friendly and helpful, they knew this was our first time camping and went above and beyond to make it as amazing as possible. They recommended a hiking trail that was great, although we did manage to misinterpret a part of the instructions (totally our fault!) which took us on what we like to call an "unscheduled detour", but in all honesty that only added to the hilarity and fun of the day!
All of the facilities were great and pretty close to our pitch, which was useful for those 4am toilet runs with the kids.
The corner shop was literally over the road from the site and the hot food that they offer for both breakfast and evening meals was really useful (and at a very reasonable price), and the owners of the shop were also so kind and welcoming. We weren't able to get into the pub as we hadn't booked previously (as suggested on the listing), but that was something that we knew could be the case and didn't bother us. If you definitely want to go to the pub, you absolutely need to book.
We were only there for 3 days and I have to say, we were all SO disappointed that we couldn't stay longer because we enjoyed it so much.
Sleeping to the sound of the stream was so lovely, and a special mention needs to be given to the sheep on the field next door that gave us all so many laughs when everyone was going to sleep but you just got the "baaaaa" from them that started the sniggers from the kids!!
Couldn't recommend this site enough, it was fantastic!
Disliked Really can't find anything wrong with the site itself, it's brilliant and so welcoming/peaceful.
The only 'negative' we had from our stay was when we got to The Bridges Pub during our hike we found them less than welcoming, to the point that it actually felt a little awkward, but that was on a Sunday afternoon so perhaps it'd been a busy day so it's unfair to judge based solely on that.

Fantastic location, great dog and family friendly site, great pitches.

Liked The stream, the park, the space, location (close to two lovely pubs and the shop), the owners. A lot of areas so you don’t feel confined. The current website doesn’t do the site justice as it was a lot better than we hoped. A lot of safe space for the kids to play in, the walks from the site were lovely, local pubs very welcoming, lovely location. Would recommend.
Disliked The sewage/waste smell was really rather strong by what I would imagine is the septic tank.
Also a larger group decided every night to start their ‘evening’ around 10pm playing music etc. luckily we weren't next to them but that would have got frustrating.

Will certainly return.

Liked Peaceful setting.
Welcoming hosts/Wardens.
Nice areas to walk.
Lovely separate camping areas.
Disliked Grass being left when mowed.......Not idea when your in a Caravan, Camper van or Tent.
Maybe something to consider to make peoples stay more enjoyable.

Great site in a beautiful location, great people running it.
Powered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked The site is very clean and in a beautiful location. The couple that run the site are brilliant, chatty and polite. I feel that they would do what ever they could to make your stay as comfortable as possible. John even provided some concrete blocks and an 18" slab to put our disposable Bar-b-que on to keep it off the grass. Rachael was a lovely lady and really made us feel welcome from the off. The toilet blocks are a little dated but we're very clean and the showers are easy to adjust and use. The site seems very safe because John and Rachael are there so I had no worries leaving my tent onsite while we went out for day trips.
They also have a separate room to wash up your plates, cups etc if you need to use it and tumble dryer and washing machine which can be used for a small extra charge, again if you need to use it.We only had a short break of 3 nights to see if my daughter enjoyed the camping experience (which she did ), but I would definitely go back and use the site again there is a small shop literally 5 mins from the site for essentials. I also like the fact you don't have to be off the site until 12pm, that gives you a little extra time to get everything packed away for the journey home.
Disliked I believe there is not much to ' dislike ' as I have mentioned the toilet/shower block is a little dated but John and Rachael were in there every day mopping/sweeping and cleaning them.

Liked Rachel and John were fabulous hosts, we soon established that they have recently taken over the management of the site and have worked tirelessly to respond to any previous negative reviews.
From arrival to departure they couldn’t have done anything more to make our stay more enjoyable, so much so we extended our stay 🙈
From to pub right next door to the local shop they have everything you could possibly need and the staff couldn’t be more welcoming.
Disliked Our little Doggo didn’t want to come home with us…apparently she’d rather be the site’s mascot 🤦♀️

From the manager: Many thanks for your review Adelle, we were so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We always feel so happy when visitors come into reception & ask if they can extend their stay, fabulous! Your little doggo was a real hit & yes we did definitely want her to stay. Thanks for your site feedback & supplying us with leaflets from your day out visits. We look forward to welcoming you all back soon.

Liked Very warm welcome, the woman on reception was lovely, got given a big pitch right on the edge of the stream in the shade, it was 31 degrees so that was very much needed.. lovely quiet site.. would visit again
Disliked We was going to the pub near by on evening but never pre booked.. maybe something on website to suggest pre booking.. lady on reception help us find alternatives though

From the manager: Many thanks for your review Dan, we're thrilled you enjoyed your stay. That's a good point, we will amend our general information on PitchUp & encourage people to pre-book as the 'Inn on The Green' pub is very popular & often gets fully booked. We hope to see you again soon.

Friendly fellow campers
Extremely friendly and helpful wardens
Very well stocked shop 2 minutes walk away
Pub next door
Disliked Pub fully booked for food. You need to book well in advance.
Awful smell at the toilet/shower block
Nothing within walking distance. Have to go by car for a day out

From the manager: Many thanks for your review. The pub, next door to the site is extremely popular- we have now added a note on our PitchUp information advising visitors to pre-book to help avoid future disappointment. In the six weeks we've been here, we acknowledge that we've inherited an unpleasant smell which radiates down the rough track at times & see this as a priority to manage asap - apologies that you found this awful. We are rural yet surrounded by some beautiful countryside walks but yes, it is a drive for other day out activities. Can you please tell us if we can alter our general information as we want to be honest with what we have to offer? Sorry to read that you wouldn't consider staying with us again but we appreciate your feedback.
Lovely countryside site

Liked Had a wonderful long weekend which was booked last minute due to weather forecast.
Super clean and secure site with an interest in recycling, toilet and shower block tidy and clean, all appeared to be level pitches and ours was alongside the river which provided trees for shade.
Although deep in countryside easy access to attractions including Church Stretton and Longmynd
Lovely pub at entrance to site which we didn't eat at -our fault we didn't book in advance - which seems to be very popular.
All in all site had everything we were looking for and hope to return.
Disliked Nothing

The “Inn on the Green” was great. Good beer, good food, good prices.
Disliked Quite bumpy, uneven pitches where we were!
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Many thanks for your review. We're sorry you experienced a bumpy, uneven pitch but if our memory serves us right- we had reserved you a riverside pitch which is very level but on arrival you requested a pitch away from the river as you were concerned about your dog. Unfortunately, we were busy so the options were limited but we gave you a couple of alternative options. We do hope to see you again soon.
