Δεν μου άρεσε The website tells you that check in is from 4, it’s not, you can’t access the campsite until 5.30 and there is nowhere with a caravan that you can comfortably wait. The toilets were extremely basic. There is shooting late into the night, and early in the morning. The bar area is really noisy. Cockerels in the local area wake you up early. We had dogs barking late at night and people partying and arguing. Would not stay again

Δεν μου άρεσε It was the loudest campsite I’ve ever been too. We were hoping for an early bed time due to an early ferry in the morning but the noice was so bed. There is a pub on site which was really loud, people arguing till early morning, dogs barking all night, chickens making noice all night, gun fires till very late and early morning.
Also on the website we could arrive after 4pm but when we got there a sign was on the window to say the gates would be open from 5.30pm. This is not great when you have a caravan.

A short 20 min drive to Le Shuttle from the site.
Easy access for a great day in Bruges

Μου άρεσε - little onsite bar & food options available however this is mostly full of the locals from the static caravans
- easy access route to the ferry (around 25 mins)
- the owner is lovely and made us feel welcome
- parking next to the pitch

Δεν μου άρεσε - very noisy until around 3am with music coming from the bar making it difficult to get a good nights sleep
- shower & toilet block very dirty with no toilet paper and no signs displayed on how to flush the toilet
- not much to do around so I would recommend this site if only stopping over while travelling France
- limited lighting around the park if you need to access the facilities after dark especially with children

Bar was nice to have a drink and our son had a burger which was nice
Pitch size was great for our motor home
The price was great for exactly what we needed. A over night stay before catching our boat back to the uk
This campsite is literally 20 min from Calais ferry port

Shower facilities, toilet facilities basically all the facilities onsite was not great at all.
Very very run down, very dirty, very smelly and the worse we have seen while travelling.
There was a dog onsite that barked throughout the night which again wasn’t great.
Overall we needed somewhere to park up for one night close to the port and that what we did. We definitely would not use this campsite for any other purpose

Δεν μου άρεσε Loud music to 4am - it was a public holiday which we weren't made aware of when booking or on arrival. We explained we needed to leave at 6am when arrived and were put close to the exit but unfortunately that also meant right next to the bar/party.
Showers not particularly clean

Δεν μου άρεσε We chose La Paillote as a convenient overnight stop before our early ferry, attracted by its description as a small, well-maintained and peaceful site close to Calais. Unfortunately, the reality was very different. What we experienced was extremely loud music and partying that went on until 3am, making any chance of rest impossible. For a site that markets itself as a calm base and highlights its proximity to the ferry port, this was hugely disappointing and left us feeling misled.

The pitches themselves are oddly laid out, directly behind the bar area, with the rest of the grounds largely taken up by static caravans. This means that if there is noise at the bar — and there was a lot during our stay — it carries straight across the camping area, leaving little chance of peace or privacy. While the facilities are fine and the location is good for exploring Pas-de-Calais, the setup simply does not lend itself to quiet camping.

In fairness, if you’re looking for a party atmosphere with live music and don’t mind noise into the early hours, you may well enjoy La Paillote. However, for travellers seeking a peaceful night before travelling, or families hoping for a calm stay, this is not the place. Clearer advertising about the nature of the site and the location of the pitches would go a long way to set expectations honestly.

Μου άρεσε Camping calme et chaleureux. J'y ai séjourné en tente, seule avec mes deux enfants. Je m'y suis sentie en sécurité. Les enfants se sont bien amusés. L'emplacement était spacieux et bien entretenu. Les sanitaires étaient propres, les douches chaudes. Nous avons pu faire un barbecue et profiter des aménagements. Les voisins étaient sympathiques et le patron aux petits soins. Le camping est à proximité de la mer, en voiture. C'est un bon rapport qualité-prix.
