Estuary View Escapes

Μου άρεσε Fab peaceful site. Great views, quiet place, friendly helpful host. Lots of walks and beach close by. We walked to local pub 'The Devon ' which was maybe 10 mins away and enjoyed few drinks in beer garden with our dog.

Μου άρεσε Lovely location, ideal for visiting other areas in the Lake District. Louise was really friendly & facilities were clean and as described.

Μου άρεσε Outstanding view, walking from site, wading birds on the estuary and friendly and helpful owners. Especially enjoyed the ice cream they brought to us on our final rather hot day.

Μου άρεσε We have just returned from our three night stay at Estuary Views Escapes and myself and my wife loved it. Back to basics with no hook up, loved it and i would say to Lee and Louise keep it as that you've nailed it. The views from the hardstanding pitch was beautiful looking over the estuary. I met Lee who was a great guy, unfortunatley we didn't meet Louise she was living the dream on a break in Dubia and rightly so after see the work that shes done on the site and especially the toilets which were immaculate. I could have stayed in the loos as they were that clean and smelt like you were walking through the duty free of the perfume and aftershave department at the airport. Beach is 5 minutes walk from the site and Millom is around 25 minutes walk where you can find ships, pubs & takeaways and theres a pub within walking distance. Ideal for walkers and dog owners and cannot recommend it enough. We will be returning as my wife has now put this site at number one in her lists of places that we have visited. Well done to Lee & Louise for making something from nothing with a unique experience. Steve & Julie.

Μου άρεσε As others have said, Louise is so helpful. She even offered to give me a lift into Millom when it was threatening rain, but the walk is only 20 minutes and very easy. Information boards tell you everything you need to know, and offer a map of the view across the estuary. Pitches are very large and level. There's no electricity and facilities are basic, but they are exceptionally clean and thoughtfully provided. For me it was a good test of no-electric camping, as I'd hardly done that before in Kurt the Kamper; I was reminded of a few things we'll probably need to know for this summer's long trip (I was there to watch a show at Millom's Beggars' Theatre - only Kurt's second overnight trip this year). The setting is stunning, and the birdlife so varied because of the mix of estuarial feeders and land birds. Do the walk from the site to the beach (about 10 minutes) to appreciate the full range! You can also access the England coastal path from that walk if you want to explore further.

Μου άρεσε I love everything about this site, the views, the clean facilities, the pitch space, the level hard standing, the easy access, the virtually private beaches. Then there's the price. Local take aways delivery too! Louise is absolutely lovely & funny, she makes you feel so welcome.

Δεν μου άρεσε On this occasion it was the unusually high winds that hit the country on this last May bank hols. We needed our awning as we have a small camper, we needed that extra space, but the wind proved too much for it.

Μου άρεσε Louise the owner practically met me at the gate as I arrived and was so welcoming. The communication before even arriving was great.
I’m a solo female traveler and I felt so comfortable, the most beautiful surroundings and perfect, simple set up! Only a max of 5-6 vans, everyone gets there own bench & great set ups. The portaloo was well looked after and the best one I’ve ever seen.
Would definitely return!

Μου άρεσε We got a lovely welcome from Louise and took us to our pitch and gave us a tour of facilities.The Site is in a very quiet location with breathtaking views and stunning walks for our dogs even a picnic bench . The facilities where as described portaloo was immaculately clean and smelt fresh and cleaned daily ,fresh water and grey waste points easy to access and toilet waste waste disposal point.Good 02 signal. Will definitely be back.

Μου άρεσε Absolutely wonderful gem of a Campsite .
The views are unrivalled and the peace and tranquillity made our stay perfect.
Louise is the perfect host and her local knowledge is invaluable.

The history of the area is fascinating and added so much to our walks in the area.

Our prefence for a slightly more isolated pitch with our large dog, was accommodated and we got the impression that nothing was too much trouble for Louise, even offering to bring us ice for our Sundowners !

A Tescos within walking distance, meant we could forget about driving and just enjoy the wonderful and varied walking.

The facilities were everything we needed and nothing we didn't, and as for the portaloo, all I can say is that it was a Palace!

We will definitely return
