Batemans Brewery Campsite

Μου άρεσε: Showers lovely clean warm , location . trip round brewery great tour guide he was very knowledgeable, pitched large space .sue the cleaner had great customer service and resolved issues even though it wasn’t her job

Δεν μου άρεσε: Picking up folder telling what pitch you are on from a box , went to my slotted pitch to find travellers on it . Tried phoning Trish on number given no response went to brewery office to find nothing todo with them however they got me help they called Trish still no response so arrived at site 2 ish got sorted 4 to 5 ish buy lovely sue . Trish arrived asked as we passed her saying settled ? No apology didn’t sort the issue by asking us . All weekend the people who had my pitch was in their van driving around tent field and loud music so where was Trish ? No security on there as people my age felt. Vulnerable . Trish needs to welcome quests answer her phone and show interest on people on site as well as accepting bookings on line ? Don’t have pitches 11 12 13 as to get to them a big dip down which it took our feet off our tourer going down to get to those spots so spent sat looking for replacements . So upset with it all and so were all the other people as no contact .

Thankyou for your review. I am sorry to hear you didn't have a pleasant stay with us unfortunately some of the issues was out of our control. We do not alow parties from the travelling communities on site but we also cannot assume an individual is a traveller when they book online. We are a unmanned site as we clearly state this is why there is no security on site but staff around all week and a staff member walks round the site everyday to make sure everything and everyone OK. I do apologise regarding the issue if I had known sooner it would have been handled sooner but some things are out of our control. We generally are a very peaceful site. I was contacted while you was there to move you pitches as you was unhappy and requested a different pitch to which we did and I came down to site and spike to you and asked if you was settled and okay you replied yes. I apologise again for your experience

Μου άρεσε: Absolutely perfect stay, lovely location and clean site.

Μου άρεσε: Fairly flat field, good toilets and hot showers, buses and trains close by, Co-op for essential provisions. Generally quiet site and good value. 2x pubs, Chinese takeaway and a kebab takeaway within walking distance, if you do not want to cook. Flatish field with a river to one side

Δεν μου άρεσε: No Instructions to find your pitch number and codes for toilet and showers, had we not read previous reviews we would not have known where to find them in the grey box hidden near the entrance. Same about the fresh water outlet and grey waste disposal, we had to ask other users where they were......far left of the field. This should all be communicated via booking confirmation email.
Other users thinking they can make excessive noise, spread onto other pitches and use drones right over your motorhome and personal space. This is not the site owners fault but as there are no officials onsite this behaviour cannot be monitored

Μου άρεσε: Superbly organised and set out unmanned campsite in an ideal location with modern spotless shower / toilet block that had powerful and hot showers not normally seen in camping locations. The site was not only great for brewery events but also very easy walking distance into the village which had all the amenities required for a great stay.

Δεν μου άρεσε: Although an ingenious code unlocked bolt securing each toilet / shower cubicle to prevent unauthorised access it did leave me to wonder if safe as the exterior bolt could be locked by rouge kids etc whilst inside rendering you ‘locked in’?

Μου άρεσε: Lovely large flat pitches not over looking other holiday makers. Very green and clean, well kept. We was able to play with our baby in the sun on a blanket with his toys with our table and chairsset up too. Ideal to stay by the caravan relaxing or to explore the area or go to the coast. Great views of fields and great space to let the kiddies play games with the family on the large field. Toilets and showers were very clean and not tight on space to change. Just a shame no baby change if showering with your baba. The water was hot and water pressure was good. Only visited once with no loo role available but with a baby we always have wipes and nappy bags so no big deal just alway be prepared for tge unexpected. Lovely welcome pack and a card you need to leave in the window incase of an emergency as the site is unmanned. Great information on the area and ideas on what to do during your stay.Be sure not to delete your email as you need to collect the welcome pack yourself from the safe box. Lovely holiday makers guided us on what to do. Local pubs for food and drink in the village a 5 minute walk and co-op. Loved the stay that much we booked again before leaving.

Δεν μου άρεσε: No ser route on exiting the site. Other travelers pacing away behind us was taking up much room we couldn't get out initially the way we came. There was a clearing by the toilets through some trees big enough but the ground was very uneven which would have been an issue for caravans with motor movers. In the end we asked other users to move their packing up a little so we could actually get out. This is the only area we would suggest some improvements on the ground out or advise in the welcome pack on what the owners would like people to do on the way out.

Μου άρεσε: Quiet site, easy walking access to local amenities such as shop, pharmacy, pubs, train and of course Bateman's Brewery! Toilet block and showers good. Could do with mop to dry floor after shower and a shelf to put toiletries whilst in the shower but not a problem just a thought. Brewery tour was interesting and informative.

Δεν μου άρεσε: Didn't receive instructions before arriving about the pack that needed to be collected. Not a problem really, we asked our neighbours nd soon sorted it.
