Tagg Lane Caravan Site

Μου άρεσε: Lovely site, pitches are fairly level and nicely spaced. Fantastic treats next door at the dairy and farm shop. Just up the road from the high peak trail and easy access to bakewell, Chatsworth, Mam Tor and ladybower reservoir to name a few places we went. Really enjoyed our stay.

Μου άρεσε: Choose your own pitch. Cheep for location. Excellent base for day trips to Bakewell and Buxton etc. cycle and walking easy access. Amazing pub 2 mins drive for food and atmosphere. Best ice cream served at the farm for miles.

Μου άρεσε: A site in the edge of Derbyshire. Located on a working farm with a niche market of fresh Jersey Milk, handmade Gelato and good quality beef products. With a wet weekend the farmer was only too happy to lend a tractor pull to prevent a possible boggy situation.

Μου άρεσε: Good location for visiting key Peak District towns. The escape and returning home!

Δεν μου άρεσε: Rude, discourteous, unhelpful staff. Very expensive for what you get. Farmyard noxious smells. Busy ice cream shop spoils enjoyment. The young lad in the the shop (owners son), really is the rudest most unhelpful character you can ever meet and totally devoid of customer service skills. Please see other reviews. They are not wrong! The site is right next to a farmyard and the smells are awful. This is not a complaint as it's to be expected. Though if the smell is really bad on any day you will be sick. When you arrive you have to check in at the ice cream shop. Though there were no customers in the shop when I arrived I had to interrupt the staff to get noticed. There is no information given on amperage available, emergency locations, places to visit in a nutshell nothing! It seems all they care about is the ice cream business. We had a problem with the electric hookup and basically the owner came and had a quick look on the first night blamed us for it and that was it! We were left to it. This was a last minute break as we had to change from a holiday abroad in the sun to this in the UK due to personal reasons. As our four night break spanned a bank holiday weekend there was nothing left - apart from this place. Now I know why. I should have taken heed of the bad reviews. Please do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs. These people really do not deserve your hard earned money. One thing I will say they have addressed is they now place an 'A' board on the entrance to the caravan site to stop people visiting the ice cream shop parking there. All in all a miserable experience on site but out and about visits we enjoyed.

Από τον διαχειριστή: Firstly to anyone who has read this review i have never seen them in person as they never called in to express there problems at the reception like any normal person would do. They called me one morning in which they described me ("owners son") laughing and smirking on the phone over our electric hookups being damaged and vandalized in which i didn't find very amusing. Your have no respect for other people property as you have burnt the circuit on the hookup and left a day early as you didn't want face us personally which is soooo WEAK! and then hide behind an anonymous review.

Μου άρεσε: It was nice and quiet when the farm shop closed at 5.30.

Δεν μου άρεσε: The pitches were next to the overflow car park for the ice cream shop at peak times we had cars and vans parked next to us on pitches and on the grass.

Δεν μου άρεσε: You are right next to the dairy and at weekends the overflow car park is always full so drivers just come onto the site to park right next to the caravans. The dairy is aware but do nothing to stop this. It’s a shame as the site is lovely but this does spoil the experience.

Μου άρεσε: Basic but well kept site. Lovely views across the peaks. Ice cream shop next door!

Δεν μου άρεσε: Location: not many public walks nearby so dog walking had to be along a busy road with no paths. People coming to the shop parking on the site and walking their dogs around it.
