Waterside rambles by the River Severn are a short walk away, as is casting off; fishing permits are available from the local post office and shop. If you do decide to drive, it’s about 45 minutes from the farm to the coast at Aberystwyth, Aberdyfi and Tywyn; other driving destinations include a pony trekking centre five minutes away; the Mid Wales Shooting Centre (10 minutes); paintballing (20 minutes) and driving of a different kind at the Sweet Lamb rallying circuit (25 minutes). For towns, the museums, galleries and exhibitions of Llanidloes and Welshpool are 15 and 30 minutes away; Montgomery is 25 minutes and a most recommended option is Newtown and the events and performances of the Theatre Hafren, under 10 minutes away. The farm is also well placed for competitors in the Caersws Cup Downhill Race, as the track is two miles away.
