Syntes om Great location next to the river and friendly pub with good beer and food. Good wifi and phone signal. Compost toilet was surprisingly effective. Calm, peaceful and well run.

Syntes om Imagine a lovely drive through north Wales - you're on a long road (B5105 going west) with a lovely hilly view. The road starts to go downhill before sweeping to the left. The pub comes into view at the bottom of that hill. You park up next to a flowing river and make your way into this quaint old pub; on your way in some of the locals are conversing comfortably in Welsh on a picnic table outside. You go into the bar to check-in and are met with the best welcome you've ever had. You don't get verbal instructions about where to pitch-up or shown your accommodation on a map but you get taken to it by staff as well as briefed on the facilities available and how to use them. The staff onsite make sure all party members are aware of the facilities and rules. During your stay you see staff wandering around onsite saying hello to guests and making sure everything is clean and ship-shape. You make friends with the other campers on site. You can make a lovely meal by the river with your own cooking facilities then turn in for the night falling asleep and waking up to the sound of flowing water. Oh...and there are alpacas. :)

1. The fantastic customer service and the community feel.
2. The vast variety of accommodation (rougher camping, flat riverside pitches for roof tents, glamping, innovative cabins).
3. Clean compost toilets with two sinks.
4. On site pub for refreshments and good food.
5. It's a quiet site - no music.
6. Wildlife (a variety of birds and bats).
7. Alpacas, obviously.

Syntes ikke om The lack of some sort of hand drying facility at the compost toilets. I hope an eco-friendly and sustainable option exists out there. In the summer wafting my hands dry is not an issue at all - they dry in less than a minute, but they'd be cold in any other season. This can be solved by remembering to take your own towel/hand towel to the loos - I was unprepared in all honesty but this would help with convenience.

Syntes om Lovely campsite in a beautiful location. The campsite is well maintained and the owners are very welcoming and accommodating. The river and grounds make for a tranquil experience. The alpacas is a nice touch and my children loved them.

We’ve been every summer for the last 3 years for a night in the alpaca pen and love it every time. Easy trip, everything’s set up for you and perfect pub dinner! Thanks for the kids core memories! Forests and lake a nearby, recommend Bala Lake and Llyn Brenig

Syntes om We had such a lovely night away. The kids enjoyed playing in the river, fed the alpacas, chickens and sheep & enjoyed roasting marshmallows in the evening. The tent was clean and comfortable. Lovely pub grub- clear plates all round! The owners were super friendly & welcoming from the moment we arrived. We only live half an hour away but it felt like we had such a peaceful time away from home making memories. Couldn't fault a thing!

Syntes ikke om We booked a riverside pitch for £27.50 and a meadow pitch for £15. However, on arrival both parties were placed in the meadow and we were not refunded the difference. Unfortunately, the welcome we received was far from friendly – instead of a warm greeting, we were given what felt like a lecture about not making noise at night or playing music. While we understand campsites have rules, there is a much more courteous and respectful way to communicate them.

Later, when we asked about ordering chips at 6pm, we were met with “did you book them in advance?” which left us feeling like an inconvenience, so we decided not to buy. The same happened when we asked to purchase firewood – again, we were questioned about pre-booking rather than simply being helped.

Overall, the experience felt unwelcoming and unnecessarily awkward. Sadly, it put us off camping here again.

We offered to put you together as we thought you would preferred it and we had space. You seemed happy with this option but if you hadn’t been, we would certainly not have forced you to stay together.
I’m not sure what the situation with chips was as we don’t offer a ‘order in advance’ for take away chips or food. We just cook them as required. We only book tables for meals if they are sitting in.
The reason you will have been asked if wood was precooked as this is a pitch up extra option and we wouldn’t want to charge you twice if you’ve already paid.
We make no apology for briefing every customer upon arrival. We enjoy this personal touch and have made many friends this way over the years. This way we are sure earliest of our customers knows where the facilities are, the expectations on site and the nearest local shops.
