Em va agradar Great site with great toilet facilities which are kept spotlessly clean. Pleasant owner who makes sure he points out water, ehu etc. pitches are very spacious and level. One of the most peaceful sites I’ve ever been on. A 20-30 walk through the fields takes you to a lovely pub, The Flyford. Very friendly staff.

Em va agradar This is the third time we’ve stayed on this site and we’ll definitely be back. We stayed four nights although it is perfect for a stopover if you’re heading north/south on the M1. There’s even a service station offering relatively cheap fuel before you continue your journey.
The toilet block is kept spotless as is the chemical bay. All pitches are fairly level so pitching up is an easy affair. The owners are very pleasant and friendly.
There is a Co-Op walking distance from the site. And lastly there are many walks a short drive away.

Em va agradar This is the second time I’ve stayed here. First time was for a one night stopover. It is perfectly located just off J51 where there is a relatively new services which must have the cheapest fuel on the M/way network. This time I stayed 6 nights. It was perfect for hillwalking, being a short drive to the Leyburn, Northallerton, Thirsk areas.
There is a Co-Op in Leeming Bar which the site is on the edge of. A bar/restaurant is about 150m from this.
The site itself is all grass pitches. They are fairly level and a decent size. The toilet block was modern and kept spotless.
The owners are very friendly and are to be seen maintaining the site etc every day I was there. Very easy access to the site also.

Em va agradar Used this for a one night stop over. Minutes of the Al. Delighted with the site. Spotless toilet block and the site is well cared for and level. A credit to the owner who I found to be polite and helpful. Would definitely use again.

Em va agradar Arrived at the site late due to a blow out on the m/way (about 45 min after 1830hrs). Tried to phone the site but apparently both numbers given on Pitchup go to the owner who doesn’t live onsite but neither number was answered anyway. The warden, who does live on site, was unperturbed at our late arrival and allowed us to pick what pitch we wanted. The site was nearly empty. We picked pitch 7 which was a stroke of luck as this faced onto the Bridge Inn on the other side of the river enabling us to connect to their WiFi. During our weeks stay we were unable to connect to the sites WiFi which we found to be hopeless.
The Bridge Inn was a pretty soulless pub which matched the woman serving behind the bar. The only thing I will remember of this establishment is the prices. They charge like the Light Brigade.
The site itself is well kept with the tourer pitches, which are fully serviced, being the best part of it. The Gents toilet block was pretty modern with underground heating consisting of 2 wc’s and 2 showers which cost 50p per shower. Not a lot of money but at £35 per night site fees they should be free. The Ladies toilet is in a separate building with the same set up.
There is a laundry room with both washing machine and tumble drier. Both take £1 coins. We used the machines once, both at £1 for 20 min.
There are numerous walks of all levels that can be started directly from the site.
For shopping there is a general store in Gosforth 3 miles away. The garage across the road from this were very friendly too and had ordered a new tyre for me which fitted took them 4 hours. Great service.
The site directions given by the site I would say are for people travelling from the south. If coming from the north it is much better to leave the M6 at junction 44 and follow the A689 then A595 until you see the sign for Santon Bridge.
All in all the Old Post Office site is a pleasure to stay in with one of the friendliest wardens who has great local knowledge.

Em va agradar Stayed for 2 nights on our way back home from the south of France. The owners are very attentive. I was shown the entire site by Mike who informed me of everything I need to know. The site is very level with large grassed pitches which are easily accessed. We have a twin axled caravan and could have fitted onto all pitches.
The site has its own website which gives good advice on which roads to use to arrive at site.
The site is pretty remote but that makes it so peaceful and relaxing. It is perfectly located for cycling. A van calls each morning selling multiple types of bread.
The toilet facilities are second to none. They are locked every evening after 10pm which is, in my experience, unique but I knew of this before I decided to stay here.
I would stay at this site again with pleasure.

Parcel·la de gespa amb aigua, llum i desguàs per a caravanes Zone D (prèmium)
Em va agradar This is my second time on this site and I enjoyed my stay just as much as last time in 2019. The pitches are mostly separated by mature hedges which offer shade if you want it and are well sized. We took a pitch in section D which are fully serviced and massive.
The toilet block was still under renovation when I visited in 2019. They are completed now and very clean. The showers are probably the best I’ve seen in France up to date.
There is a bar/restaurant on site which I found to be well worth a visit. Prices are fair. A fast food van visits the site on Thursday to give the site kitchen its weekly rest. Again I found this to be well worth a visit.
The English couple who own the site I found to be very friendly and wanted you to enjoy your stay
No em va agradar I disliked nothing about the site. The little village nearby needs a bit of life put into it. Looks like there were two bars that are now closed.

Parcel·la de gespa i terra dur amb aigua, llum i desguàs per a caravanes
Em va agradar The serviced pitches are kept immaculate, very level. Access is very easy although the kerb lowering could be widened to allow exiting without bumping off the raised footpath. Entrance gate is secured by a combination padlock which works well. The toilets are basic but kept very clean. Two male and two female toilets seemed adequate in number. Never used the showers as we utilise our own in the caravan so can’t make comment.
The site is pretty isolated although there is a shop in Baldersby for foodstuffs. They do however charge like the light brigade. Very top end. Thirsk and Ripon are easily reached by car within 10 min. We mainly used Thirsk for our shopping where there is a large Tesco, you can also fuel up there also. There is a small market on Saturdays, nothing to write home about but there is a stall that sells every kind of pie which are delicious. He also sells homemade goat curries which are restaurant quality for £3. Fantastic value.
There are several pubs and restaurants within a ten minute drive from the site. On our last night we dined at the Angel at Topcliffe which was a bit hit and miss, overpriced but nice surroundings.
No em va agradar This site does not have a dog run and as such irresponsible dog owners allow their dogs to foul on the pitches, indeed a good number of them use the serviced pitch area as a dog run. They do pick the dog mess up, thinking that this makes it acceptable, it does not. The site is in the middle of the countryside so there must be more suitable locations where their dogs could do their business.

Del gerent: Hi David Thanks for the great review, both on the liked and disliked. We totally agree with you regards irresponsible dog owners. On arrival they are all told about the dog walk which in enclosed and a 5 minutes walk away. There are several signs saying no dog fouling on the site but owners are oblivious to them. We will in future be enforcing these rules to all dog owners as we to are sick of picking up the mess. Regards Sarah and stan

Em va agradar The owners are a delight. They want to make your stay as nice as possible and they achieve this admirably. The site is well kept and pitch sizes are generous with a water tap at each pitch. There is no drainage which has to be emptied outside the toilet block. The toilet block is clean with 2 wc’s and 2 showers each for male and females. The site is secluded and secure with electrically operated gates.
There is a small ASDA nearby for any shopping requirements.
No em va agradar The only comment I can make here is the M/way noise. You do get used to it but it’s always there.

Em va agradar Picked this site at the last minute because of the price. The location seemed perfect being next to the coast. It is isolated but having a bar and restaurant on site this would not be an issue.
On arrival at the site I was quickly given my pitch number and a paper map to assist me in finding it. Which was easy enough.
The hard standing pitch No. 11 was of a good size, was pretty level and was fully serviced.
There is a good shop on site which sells newspapers and is well stocked for food and drink with reasonable prices.
There are plenty of places within a short drive to eat. I can recommend the Galloway Smoke House for lunch. It closes at 6pm
No em va agradar There is nothing open during the day with the exception of the slot machines/games. Due to Covid restrictions. It does warn you on the pitch up site that the swimming pool is closed but there is no mention of the restaurant being closed. The Sports Bar opened from 6pm till 10pm. The covid regulations take a good bit of the pleasure away making it, for me, a not worthwhile walk down a very steep hill to get to it. It goes without saying that the site must enforce the Covid restrictions but it’s the only place that once shown to your socially distanced table and seated you are not allowed to remove your mask before a drink is brought to the table by serving staff. Weird!
. It looks as if the row of pitches I was located are a fairly recent addition to the site. There are much nicer hard standing pitches elsewhere in the site which have great views of the Solway Firth. Our pitch looked onto a grass embankment with a large wooden, barbed wire topped fence enclosing the site maintenance yard. No sea views.
The main toilet block was locked, an entry code was required. I had not been furnished with this. There was a further, unlocked, toilet/shower block at the opposite end of the pitches which, when the heating was turned on were excellent.
The chemical toilet emptying point was disgusting. It had no running water making it impossible to flush or rinse out toilet cassettes.
These pitches look like an afterthought.

Em va agradar This is a small well kept site with clean facilities. It has very easy access. We tow an eight feet wide caravan and had no problem getting to or accessing the site. When we booked there was only grass electric available. These pitches are right at the front of the site so suffer from normal road noise during the day but it’s not a particularly busy road and at night is very quiet. The view over the dales from our pitch was fantastic. The pitches are fairly level with plenty of water points.
The pub is a two minute walk from the site. It is cosy with log burning fires and very friendly staff. We went there once and enjoyed the food which was reasonably priced. Covid 19 restrictions were in place at the time and the pub/inn only opened at weekends.
