Afegiu les dades de la vostra empresaTake off to Texas, and a waterfront location among 10 acres of woodland: Barefoot Bay RV Resort and Marina is on the banks of Lake Bob Sandlin, about 10 minutes’ drive from the centre of Pittsburg.
There’s plenty of space at this park, which means the fully serviced pitches can handle even the largest units – and there’s a good list of facilities too. Each pitch has its own picnic table, and there are communal firepits and barbecue grills around as well (with supplies available at the grocery store 15 minutes’ drive away).
Other facilities around the park include a launderette, a convenience store (with camping supplies and free air/water top-ups for vehicles), a dump station and a modern amenities block with showers and toilets. Pets are welcome at this park, and there’s a dog park where your four-legged friends can have a run around.
With volleyball, a hot tub, a games room, a horseshoes pit and a play area on site there should be plenty of leisure facilities around to keep the whole family busy – and that’s without even mentioning the main attraction of the lake itself.
Lake Bob Sandlin is a huge 9460-acre reservoir that’s known for its bass fishing – bring your rods along and you can fish from the park’s banks. It’s also possible to swim here, and there are rentals for kayaks, paddle boards and paddle boats on site (plus a boat ramp for those who have their own vessel).
And what if you just fancy putting your feet up with a drink? That’s a possibility too – just head to the clubhouse, which sells beer and wine to drink while relaxing on the large lakeside deck or catching sporting events on the flatscreen TVs.

There can be nowhere else to start than Lake Bob Sandlin – and once you’ve had a go at the fishing and watersports at the park, there’s still the 640-acre Lake Bob Sandlin State Park to explore on the lake’s wooded northern shore. For a game of golf while you’re in the area, head to Princedale Country Club (10 minutes’ drive), which has a nine-hole course.
Learn a bit about the area’s history while you’re here with a trip to Northeast Texas Rural Heritage (10 minutes), which has two great museums on site: the Farmstead Museum and the Depot Museum (home to the Ezekiel Airship, which may have predated the Wright brothers’ first flying machine).
You may also like to check out the area’s wineries (both Los Pinos and Zepeda Vineyard are within 20 minutes’ drive), and stop by at Pittsburg’s Prayer Tower, a 22-metre tower with a life-sized bronze sculpture of Jesus washing Peter’s feet.
