But one thing you won’t have to allocate any time to is the task of putting up a tent, because your accommodation will be ready and waiting at this cool Catalonia glampsite between Cambrils and Salou.
Booking a stay in one of these well-equipped tents means that you’ll be able to travel light, as your accommodation, beds and bed linen are all in place already. Shared facilities like a mini market and launderette are handy things to have on site, and there’s also a good cluster of leisure facilities including a swimming pool, a gym and table tennis, plus various sporting activities to join in with.
Keeping everyone fed should be easy enough at this site, as it has its own bar/restaurant and is handily about 10 minutes’ walk from various eateries and bars along the seafront. And of course that means the beach – a lovely sandy one running for a couple of kilometres – is easily walkable too, so you can get down there for a swim, a sunbathe or a bit of sandcastle building whenever you like.
In between beach visits you may also like to plan trips to the themed zones of the nearby PortAventura World, a day out exploring the Roman sites of Tarragona or a trip to the architecturally fabulous Reus.

Beach time may well occupy a fair portion of your holiday – as well as the beach a short walk from the site there are several others nearby, including La Pineda beach (15 minutes' drive). If you want a bit more activity, set off for Salou (five minutes) to find scuba/snorkel outings and canyoning adventures, or try out the high ropes and ziplines of Jumpland Aventura Ecològica (five minutes).
For a cultural fix, a trip to Tarragona (15 minutes) is a must, for the Archaeological Museum and Roman sites including the aqueduct and amphitheatre. Also nearby are the Fundació Mas Miró (10 minutes), the artist’s former home, and the city of Reus (15 minutes), which is home to the Gaudí Museum and the extraordinary Casa Navàs.
PortAventura World (10 minutes) is a popular day out for many guests, with all sorts of rides and shows across the main park, the Caribe Aquatic Park and Ferrariland. If you’d like something a little gentler (and haven’t brought the kids), how about a visit to a local winery? Celler Cooperatiu de Nulles, Vermouth Padró & Co. and Perinet winery are all about half an hour away.
