You can stroll to the busy resort of Sant Antoni de Calonge in half an hour, but chances are you may never get further than the private beach on site.
And indeed you may not even get that far… given that there's a choice of six pools surrounded by sundecks, and a daily schedule of entertainment to keep all the family busy. Smaller guests can run riot in the kids' club, while teens head for the games room or splash about on the waterslides. And the buzz continues after dark, with nightly dances, shows and themed Flamenco evenings.
Dotted among pine trees for shade, the smart, well-equipped caravans come with a wooden terrace for lazy afternoons in the sun or family dinners in the evening. Inside, each has air conditioning, a spacious kitchen and oodles of living space, as well as double or twin bedrooms with showers in private bathrooms.
It may be tempting to let the days drift by on site, but if you do drag yourselves away, browse the shops in Platja D’Aro for souvenirs or snack on tapas in seafront bars, or take the kids off to the giant waterparks on the Costa Brava.
On the practical front, this site has a launderette and a handy supermarket to pick up bits for barbecues on your terrace (and order freshly baked bread and croissants for breakfast). There's also a wifi connection for easy browsing/keeping the teens happy.

Llocs d'interès
The Costa Brava coast has masses for families to do: spend fun-filled days on daredevil waterslides at Parc Aquàtic Aquadiver (five minutes’ drive) and Water World (40 minutes), or take your life in your hands on ziplines and treetop trails at Costa Brava Parc Aventura (10 minutes).
For something a bit more rural, hire bikes at reception for the strenuous cycle rides in the Massís de les Cadiretes foothills (30 minutes), or the gentler routes along the beachfront at Platja d’Aro (10 minutes). Tee off at Club Golf d’Aro – Mas Nou, or teach the kids the rules of the game at Pitch & Putt Platja d’Aro (both less than 15 minutes).
And for more sedate days out, pop in to the surrealist galleries at Castell-Platja d’Aro’s Castell de Benedormiens or visit the scarily lifelike dolls in the Museum de la Nina (20 minutes).
