Small, lively and mighty family friendly, Vakantiepark de Molenhoek in Zeeland is pretty well packed with handy facilities. Whether you’re after a lazy break by the swimming pool or prefer to discover the island of Noord-Beveland on two wheels, this place has got you covered. Looking for activities for the whole family to join in? Yep, they’ve got that sorted for you too. To start with, the pool complex consists of three swimming areas: a toddler and paddling pool, a swimming pool with a water hose and slide for the kids, and the main pool where you can swim lengths (or just splash about after 10am). In high summer, there’s lots of organised fun for the whole family kicking off around the pools, and even out of high season there is loads of stuff for kids to do. A large playground sits at the centre of the campsite, with a sandpit, football field and trampoline keeping all ages happy. Several other slides, sand pits and climbing frames are scattered round and about too. There are two modern shower blocks – one with washing machines – with underfloor heating, family showers (coin operated) and baby rooms. Other handy amenities include charging stations for electric cars, and bikes for hire so you can get around the island by pedal power. Don’t feel much like cooking? No problem – you can root out all-day supplies and takeaways at self-service ’t Brasserietje snack bar, or dine on the à la carte menu in the stylish brasserie, which has a terrace so you can keep an eye on your kids in the pool.

Em va agradar Loved this park so much- it had everything a kid would need. The place felt so safe, so beautiful and clean, the pools were great, the playground was immense. Big bonus points for being able to see it from the restaurant too! The little playgrounds dotted about the rest of the park were a nice touch as with a lot of pitches you could see them from the luxury of sitting and relaxing ! The bathrooms were great, clean, good showers and more than enough, the kids sinks and shower areas were great. We did a lovely cycle to the beach - the whole area is so well set up with cycle lanes for everywhere! Our son learnt how to ride his bike in the campsite and we were able to straight away take him out and about due to the well structured cycle lanes. Food at the restaurant is fab and well priced. There are also some nice restaurants within walking /cycling distance. The reception staff and restaurant staff are super friendly and speak alsorts of languages, so thankyou for that!

Em va agradar Toller grosser Stehplatz, Nr.3, im Rasen. Wasser und Strom direkt am Platz. Nachts war es ruhig. Auch tagsüber könnten wir uns als Paar gut erholen.
Supermarkt ist mit dem Velo in 5 Minuten erreichbar.
Tolle Fahrradwege.

No em va agradar Eine Strasse verläuft hinter dem Platz. Uns hat es nicht gestört, da nur mässiger Verkehr.
Restaurant ist erst nach 16 Uhr geöffnet.

You’re never far from the sea when staying at Vakantiepark de Molenhoek. The reclaimed island of the Noord-Beveland has a sandy beach at Banjaardstrand, popular with sunbathers and kitesurfers, and there’s a smaller beach on manmade Neeltje Jans (both 10 minutes’ drive). For more watery fun, rent a sailing dinghy, go water skiing or try kayaking on Veerse Meer (15 minutes). Find out about the inner workings of the flood barrier at Eastern Scheldt Storm Surge Barrier (10 minutes), or take family days out in the aquarium and waterpark at Deltapark Neeltje Jans (15 minutes). A trio of pretty villages await exploration too; photogenic Colijnsplaat has a fishing harbour where you can try fresh lobster straight off the boats at a restaurant overlooking the jetty, Kortgene (both 15 minutes) has lots of waterside dining, and Kamperland (five minutes) is watersports central with a modern marina. On the neighbouring island of Walcheren, historic Veere (15 minutes) has lots of gabled houses, an interactive history display in the Grote Kerk and changing art exhibitions in Veere Museum.
