On one side, the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park; on the other, the Hoge Veluwe National Park. And right there in the middle, about 20 minutes’ drive from each, is the family-friendly Recreatiepark De Lucht. With such credentials to its name, it comes as no surprise to hear that this is a fine spot from which to set out for days of walking, cycling and horse riding. Even if you don’t fancy venturing as far as either park, there’s plenty of gorgeous greenery to explore in and around the nearby town of Renswoude (three kilometres away; pick up supermarket supplies and baked goodies while you’re up there…) Bike hire is on site to aid such adventures, as is a snack bar to fuel you up pre/post-pedalling. Still got some energy left to burn? Use it on site for a workout on the gym kit or a game of tennis or pétanque. There’s also an air trampoline and playground for the nippers, and a pool where all can gather for dips (whether it’s covered or open-air depends on the season, as it’s got a retractable roof to cater for variations in climate). For quieter times, settle by the fishing pond or take a trot to meet the friendly animals that live here. Here in high season? Get set to join in with the entertainment laid on by the team – sports, discos and craft sessions should keep the whole gang busy.

Personal agradable i amb bona acollida. Les parcel·les amb bany privat són netes i càlides. Ideal per a famílies amb piscines cobertes, parcs infantils i activitats al bosc. Carrils bici segurs. Algú va trobar el lloc tranquil, però la botiga i el restaurant estaven tancats. Poc espai per passejar gossos. Bona base per explorar.

Em va agradar Warm welcome, receptionist spoke good English. We had pitch with private toilet and shower room. Clean and warm. Well worth the extra. Being off season the site was very quiet. Had the swimming pool to ourselves on the occasion we used it. Short woodland walk which we used for the dog as part of the site. We drove to Utrecht Science Park P&R and used the tram to get to the centre of Utrecht for a city day.

No em va agradar More observations than dislikes. The on site shop and restaurant were closed during our 3 night stay. The nearest shop is a 15 minute drive or you could cycle. The options for walking our dog from the site were limited due to livestock and fenced farmland. We understand there are woodland areas within 30 minute drive.

Em va agradar Lovely place to stay in ,,, indoor swimming pool. Lovely play parks all over the campsite ..Lovely views ,kids loved the kids club and the forest trail and the go karts would highly reccomend

Em va agradar It was such a relaxed campsite, our kids could play safely all day. They loved the soccer pitch and playground. The cycle lanes were fantastic and so safe. The animals, friendly family atmosphere and spotless bathrooms and showers would definitely bring us back again.

Em va agradar stayed for two nights initially given a grass pitch at bottom of the very large site in a wooded area, the wifi wouldn't work and because it was raining and the grass was soddened we asked to be moved to the area near reception used as motorhome check in area which was paved and had water, grey, toilet waste and EHU
Nice town with supermarket and couple of restaurants and a nice park is about 15mins bike ride from camp.

You may well spot some wildlife in the national parks – but then again, you may not (wild beasties sometimes don’t arrive on cue…). Guarantee critter sightings with outings to Burgers' Zoo (25 minutes’ drive), Apenheul Primate Park (half an hour) and/or DierenPark Amersfoort (half an hour). Beasts of the marine variety can be viewed at the Dolfinarium, 40 minutes away. If you’re up for a bit of history on your hols, take a walk round the grounds of Castle Renswoude (five minutes) – so swish it’s even got its own ‘grand canal’ – or step back in time to live the lifestyle of days gone by at the Netherlands Open Air Museum (25 minutes). A day trip to Utrecht (40 minutes) will yield more history from across the ages, along with some fab museums (don’t miss the colourful Miffy Museum…) For more elaborate art, head to the Kröller-Müller Museum (half an hour) to view Van Gogh’s efforts. Nippers been well behaved during all such outings? Perhaps they’ve earned the reward of a day at one of the nearby amusement parks: both Treasure Island Zeumeren (15 minutes) and Julianatoren (25 minutes) are likely to delight the small sorts.
