It’s likely you’ll soon grow fond of this farm in the Tuscan countryside. You see, the dog-friendly stays among the chestnut trees at Federico Farm in the hilly village of Grondola are very memorable indeed. Surrounded by woods and rivers, this is the place to go to get your outdoors fix… This hilly spot is usually cool and shaded, but if you need to cool down yet more, there’s a gorgeous river to bathe in a short drive away. Icier waters are in store at the Gorges of the Straits of Giaredo, 25 minutes’ drive away; thermal wetsuits may be needed for this plunge, actually. If you'd like to visit more tepid waters, it’s an hour’s drive from Federico Farm to the Liguria coast (famed for spots like Cinque Terre, which is an extra 20 minutes’ drive on top). First, get to know the local area; the site has information points if you need any pointers (like fishing in the local streams or searching for the popular local mushroom fungo di Borgotaro IGP). The farm is in the medieval village of Grondola, which has a hilltop castle abandoned in the 16th century. Stop by Pontremoli too. A 15-minute drive away, the small city has a small, steep lane leading to Castello del Piagnaro, as well as a bell tower, riverfront and a pretty piazza. In the right season, guests at Federico Farm are welcome to pick chestnuts from the trees. A fitness trail weaves through the woods for those who want to work up a sweat. There are also two sports fields for playing rugby, basketball, football and volleyball, as well as a trampoline and archery, darts, ping pong and badminton activities. A large hall hosts events and entertainment.

Em va agradar Sehr schöner Platz inmitten der Natur. Von Pontremoli über eine kurvenreiche Straße auch mit dem Wohnmobil gut zu erreichen.
Wir waren hier für eine Zwischenübernachtung
Sehr netter Gastgeber.
Sanitärausstattung einfach, aber sauber.
Ist eben Camping und kein Glamping.
Viele Spiele und Spielmöglichkeiten vorhanden.
Wichtig: Kein Restaurant in der unmittelbaren Nähe (nicht so schlimm, wenn man selbst kochen kann 😉)

Excellent campsite if you're looking for peace and tranquility.

Em va agradar Peace and tranquility. Large fenced in area for our dog to have a run around. Self service honesty bar. Excellent bathrooms with lovely hot showers. Cleanliness. Good WiFi.

No em va agradar Not sure the lights in the pine area need to be on all night..should be a celebration of dark skies in my opinion.

Em va agradar So herzlich geführter Campingplatz, unglaublich schön, das Essen regional und suuuper lecker! Und das alles für einen sehr angemessenen Preis!
Sanitäranlagen total sauber, Kühlschrank vorhanden, es fällt uns schwer zu fahren- nicht zu vergessen die unglaubliche Landschaft in relativ kühler Luft, selbst im Hochsommer!

Em va agradar A beautyful Place on the Forest.
Be prepared for a 6km Drive through narrow Curves, but no Problem at all!

You can choose your own Pitch.
The Staff is a traditional Family and they were lovely.
You can go a few Steps down to a small traditional Restaurant with classic Antipasti Dishes, like homemande Ricotta, old Pasta Dish, Sausages, Drinks and Coffee.
The Breakfast can be taken there or to go.
Wireless worked impressive well.

But what wie liked the most, was the Fence surrounded Basketball Place.
Dogs are happy to have some extra Play at this dogsave Environment.

Toilets and Showers were perfect and very clean, even nor modern.

One of the most relaxing Places around.

Em va agradar Les infrastructures pour enfants : jeux, tir à l'arc, trampoline stade de foot...
Les douches très propres, l'amabilité et la patiences des hôtes car mon Italiens est très approximatif. Toute la famille a été très accueillante et serviable.
Tous nos amis et enfants ont apprécié le séjour, nous y retournerons avec plaisir pour un plus long séjour.

Em va agradar Le personnel présent et à l'écoute, camping proche d'un supermarché, le calme, les emplacements pour tentes spacieux, les sanitaires propres et spacieux, beaucoup de points d'eau potable dans le camping

Em va agradar Toller Platz in einer schönen Umgebung. Man muss aber ein paar Serpentinen nach oben Kurven;)
Der Platz mit Sanitär war sehr sauber. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.
Der Besitzer auch sehr nett und unkompliziert.

The Ligurian coast is famous around the world, so pack your beach gear up and head off for a day trip… you could go to Porto Venere (an hour and 35 minutes’ drive) to investigate its trails, clifftop castle and dive sites or Viareggio (an hour and 15 minutes), where there’s a Carnival Museum. You’re likely to have heard of Pisa (an hour and 40 minutes) and its Leaning Tower or maybe Lerici (an hour and 10 minutes) on the Italian Riviera, where poet Percy Bysshe Shelley met his demise. Torre del Lago (an hour and a half), surrounded by woods and mountains, is lesser known but equally as stunning. Cities of arts and culture are all around too, like the walled town of Volterra (two hours and 15 minutes) and Parma (an hour and a half). Lucca (an hour and a half) has Renaissance walls and the Casa di Puccini museum, dedicated to the famed opera composer Giacomo Puccini.
