Looking for some rural R&R in south-eastern Sicily? Make a beeline for Agricampeggio Oasi Favara, a peaceful spot that opened in 2013 just five minutes’ drive from lovely, historic Ispica in the province of Ragusa. Taking its name from the Favara River that once flowed close by, the site offers tourer pitches surrounded by rows of vines, fields of durum wheat and groves of organic olive or carob trees backed by low-lying hills. As well as two heated outdoor swimming pools, sporting facilities include tennis and padel courts, a gym, a play area with slides and swings for the youngest guests and lots of green space for family games. There’s a club house to keep you fed and watered as well as shared barbecues scattered around the place, and plenty of picnic spots shaded from the heat of the sun. Should you need inspiration for day trips and sightseeing, excursions and guided tours can be arranged too. All is designed to minimise environmental impact on site, as renewable energy sources like photovoltaic and thermal solar panels are used throughout. Oasi Favara is also accessible to all guests, with showers and toilets for mobility-impaired visitors, washing-up sinks and a laundry service.

No em va agradar Pool was booked for private event.
It was very hard to walk to Ispica from campsite. You needed to walk along a busy road. No evidence of link to agritourism. No food on offer to buy.
Shower was cold.

Em va agradar Location stupenda all'internodiuncircoloditennis.Curatissima e molto pulita.Il proprietari Vincenzo molto gentile e Cristof pronto a farti sentire sempre a casa.
Pozzallo stupenda,molto viva e a pochi minuti di macchina.
Prezzo onestissimo.

Em va agradar Great site good pitches, big pool was great too, plenty of space as we were the only ones staying there. Very quiet and peaceful site.

The other pool there was closed. There isn’t any Resturant or bar onsite so remember to shop before you arrive.

We hired a car for 3 days so we could go sightseeing - def recommend it if you are in a large motorhome and can’t park it in the little towns, ended up staying an extra night here.

Gym and tennis courts on-site, think this is set up for locals as there were a few using the tennis courts and gym.

You are given a remote control for the main gates so you can come and go as you please, which was good as we hired a car some evenings we were back around 8pm so good we could get back into the site.

No em va agradar There was only one female shower/toilet cubicle, which would not be good on a full site - they have space to add a few more.

There are outdoor showers but they are for showering before and after the pool.

The pitchup site said this site was 6,10 or 16 amp but when we got there it was only 4 amp, after speaking with reception they changed the fuse so had 10amp which was perfect. Though was advised this is the max.

First stop on a cultural day out will be Ispica (five minutes’ drive), a town of exceptional baroque beauty packed with churches and palaces; admire the extravagant ceiling frescoes in Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore and the gracious curves of Loggiato del Sinatra before retiring to a cobbled piazza for something chilled in a pavement café. Inhabited since Bronze Age times, the Parco della Forza (also five minutes) is home to cave churches and the remains of once-mighty palaces; it stands over the dramatic Cava d’Ispica gorge (10 minutes), previously a neolithic burial site with medieval cave dwellings carved into the cliffside. Today you can hike along the bottom of the canyon to the Museo Cavallo d’Ispica with displays on rural Sicilian life. For a change of pace, head for the coast and Porto Ulisse, where sandy coves are backed by sandstone cliffs. Cirica (both 15 minutes) is known for its clear and shallow waters – great for kids learning to swim – and snorkelling in the rock pools and grottos.
