If you’re off to pretty Puglia, you’re probably in search of Mediterranean beaches, distinctive trulli stone huts and ancient farmland. Keep Masseria Condivisa on your radar… in the Parco Naturale Regionale Terra delle Gravine, this peaceful place is well-based for a Puglia break and it’s suitable for everyone. Dogs are very welcome to join in with the relaxation. Plus, those travelling with children are especially likely to appreciate that the site has areas dedicated to grazing donkeys, ponies, goats and other animals. For all to grill and unwind, there are also areas equipped with barbecues. Peaceful sea swims are easy to source here, considering that the sea is only 20 kilometres south of the site. With easy access to roads like the SS106 and the A14, it’s easy to get around, whether you’re heading for Alberobello (half an hour’s drive), Taranto (35 minutes) or Martina Franca (35 minutes). So, it’s clear that this is a strategic spot for a Puglia adventure. Alberobello is known for its white, stone trulli huts. Taranto has a Spartan Museum and an old town. Of course, Castellaneta is only 20 minutes’ drive away too, and it has a museum dedicated to the Italian actor Rudolph Valentino. Pick up some of the typical local products that are sold on the site as a souvenir for your time here. There’s likely to be plenty of picture opportunities, since there are semi-free animals around the site and firepits have the green light too. As for facilities, expect things like toilets, showers and a washing-up area.

Em va agradar: A farm camping! Primitive facilities but it all the necessities were there. Exactly what we needed! The host was very hospitable and helpful and even helped fix my car (some roads to the camping have MANY holes, beware!). I speak a little bit of Italian which helped in the communication.
The farm camping also has many animals (dogs, donkeys, chickens, other birds in the area). We are sound sensitive so we had earbuds to help us sleep through the animal noises.
The host warned us that shower at the camping is heated by the sun. Because we were travelling all day we came back late in the evening, so the shower would be cold, but that was to be expected!
I don't know if the camping had WiFi, but the mobile reception works well.

Apprezziamo la tua comprensione per la doccia... I nostri animali sono parte della famiglia e adorano la compagnia, ma capiamo che chi ha il sonno leggero possa preferire un po’ di silenzio.
Speriamo di accoglierti di nuovo presto per un’altra avventura rurale!

Bari (45 minutes’ drive) is a port city with an old town, two harbours, a basilica and the trendy Murat quarter (the latter is a top foodie spot). In Alberobello (half an hour), there’s a trulli museum for those looking to learn more about the origins of the trulli stone huts. Matera (45 minutes) is a city with a cave dwellings complex, churches and museums. Taranto’s (35 minutes) old town is yet another historic spot, with a 15th-century castle and basilica, and the Spartan Museum being yet another interesting way to look back in time. Whether you’re taking a dip in the clear waters of the beaches in Castellaneta (20 minutes’ drive), taking a walking tour of the historical centre or going on an olive oil tasting experience, you’re bound to feel quite relaxed by the end of the day. You might be lucky enough to be around for the summer opera festival that happens in the ancient town of Martina Franca (35 minutes) too.
