Tis the stuff of myth, surely: a holiday destination with something for everyone. Beaches and mountain walks, wildlife spotting, history and culture all packed into one convenient spot, meaning family trips without the fights… But Camping Lido Tellina is for real, and so is the Gargano National Park it sits on the edge of, by the Adriatic Sea in Italy’s Puglia province. This site faces a private stretch of sandy beach, and behind it is the green oasis of Lago Salsa, a wetlands reserve (managed by the Worldwide Fund for Nature) that you can wander at will, spotting rare carnivorous plants (better put your socks on…), marsh tortoises, the tiny mustiolo mouse and 242 species of bird. This spacious and shaded site sums up the Gargano area itself: why move on when you’ve got everything you need…? Among the tree-lined avenues of Camping Lido Tellina there’s a small shop selling basic supplies and local treats, a bar to sup sundowners in and a playground for the younger folk to hurtle about in (that’s if they’ve got any hurtling left in them after the activities laid on in the summer months). These aren't just for kids either: there’s live music and other entertainment in the evenings, and the site also organises guided tours. For supplies and adventuring, it's a five-minute drive from the site to shops, restaurants and the edge of Gargano National Park.

No em va agradar Beach bar would not accept card payments
Bathroom facilities were dirty and need a makeover (had to wear crocs in the shower).
There was a used sanitary towel in the floor of the ladies toilet for the whole of our stay (even after it had been apparently cleaned!)

Could be a great place with some investment.

Em va agradar Location on a private beach. Beautiful sandy beach.
Disabled facilities were OK. Had to ask for a key.

No em va agradar The facilities blocks for able bodied people is on need of a thorough clean, overhaul and modernisation. This includes the WC block on the beach.
There is nothing around other than the beach.

Em va agradar Wyjazd wakacyjny. Objazd po Włochach. Spędziliśmy 8 nocy. Pierwsze wrażenie, że musimy uciekać. Opuszczone kampery, dziwna okolica. Z dnia na dzień coraz bardziej zaaklimatyzowaliśmy się. Trzeba za wszystko dopłacać internet, ciepłą wodę pod prysznicem. Plusy zawsze ktoś stoi przy wjeździe i sprawdza kto wjeżdża. Można poczuć się bezpiecznie. Dużo kabin WC. 4 prysznice plażowe. Za tą cene było w porządku. Widać, że to stałe miejsce odwiedzin dużych rodzin Włoskich. 3 minuty i jesteś na plaży.
Piękna czysta plaża!

No em va agradar WC codziennie polewane wodą i rozmywane nieczystości po podłodze. Zlewy i lustra oblewane wodą. Nikt nie stosuje środków czystości. Sama woda nie wyczyści podłogi. Ściany pod prysznicami pełne pajęczyn. W jednej ubikacji zamieszkała Żabka. Jednak, gdyby ośrodek chciał iść do przodu ma kilka tematów do zaopiekowania: higiena w toaletach, obsypanie podłoża czymś na mrówki. Były aż 3 rodzaje mrówek. Po zastosowaniu chemii znikły. Widziałam, że każdy z nimi walczył. Nie było miejsca do jedzenia jakiegoś wyznaczonego. Tam gdzie ktoś niechcący dał resztki, miał pełno mrówek. Uważam to miejsce z potencjałem. Tylko muszą zadbać. W barze nad morzem fastfood i to słabej jakości. Mogliby dużo zarobić jakby zmienili menu.

No em va agradar Baños muy muy muy antiguos de los años70, poco limpios .La mayoría de los de pie y agujero

Em va agradar Bella la posizione del camping, totalmente immerso nella natura distante 10 minuti da negozi e supermercati, con la possibilità di parcheggiare la macchina direttamente nella piazzola. Proprietario e staff gentilissimi e disponibili per tutte le esigenze.

No em va agradar Il mare a due passi non è bellissimo come quello situato in spiagge distanti circa 20 km da dove avevamo la tenda. I servizi igienici sono lasciati a loro stessi però pazienza abbiamo trovato tutto l’occorrente.

Within Italy the Gargano coast is famed for its clear seas, long sandy beaches, cliffs and sea caves; take the road between Manfredonia (20 minutes’ drive) and Peschici, an hour and a half away, for fab views and ample opportunities for stopping off to find little coastal gems of your own. Offshore, but still part of the national park, the Tremiti Islands are a spectacular spot to explore: take the 50-minute ferry trip from Viesta (an hour and 15 minutes) over to this archipelago to find deserted coves, ancient religious sites and fortresses, caves and gorges and a rainbow of undersea life. Away from the sea, Manfredonia (a city modestly named by King Manfred I) is 20 minutes away and well worth a trip or two: tour Manfred’s castle whose design reflects the King of Sicily’s Swabian origins (it’s complicated…) and contains an archaeological museum stuffed with finds from the port city’s Roman and Bronze Age past. Half an hour inland (and upwards), the villages and faith sites of Monte Sant’Angelo and San Giovanni Rotondo deliver a powerful combo of mountain views and religious devotion, as well as being handy starting points for hikes through the surrounding hills.
