Like wine? Stay on a vineyard. This one makes a fine vintage, with added views of the Lattari mountains and the Amalfi coast. Agricampeggio Mare e Monti is a working farm, specialising in turning southern Italy's sunshine, rich Campania soils and mountain breezes into fat crops of grapes, walnuts and vegetables. You can sample all that fine produce in the dining room or sign up for cooking classes on site (for an extra charge)… either way, your meals are likely to be rather tasty. And the wine? You can learn more about that by joining one of the free organised tours around the centuries-old vineyards, and/or sort a wine tasting session to sample the site's DOC Basileo wine (there's an extra charge for this but it's worth the small investment). This small and simple site is only a five-minute drive from shops, bars and restaurants in the hilltop town of Tramonti and 15 minutes from the beach at Maiori for sea dips, boat trips and tanning on the sands. Ancient monuments or nature walks? Museums or people watching? Beaches or mountains? If you’re struggling to make a decision on this diversely entertaining stretch of Italy’s coastline, maybe make for the Torre dello Ziro, half an hour away outside Amalfi. You’ll have cracking views of the area from the top of this old watchtower and if you still can’t decide where to go next, well, there’s a beach just below you…

No em va agradar No fault of the site, but we didn't get much sleep due to the noise during the nights. It sounds like there must be a large boarding kennel nearby as there was lots of barking every night.

Em va agradar This was paradise and I didn't want to leave. The hosts, Alfredo and Maria, are wonderful and helped us when we arrived with a flat tyre!

Maria cooked the most delicious meal and the wine was exceptional.

To wake up with those mountain views is something I will not forget (and also the Farmhouse dog!).

Thank you and I very much hope to return!

If you like peaceful locations, it is the best small site in Campania!

Em va agradar Sincere and big thank you to Alfredo and his kind family. We’ve been provided with perfect hospitality from beginning. The camping is very little (max. 3-4 campervans) and has 1 bathroom to share, but it is the best place we’ve stayed in Campania travelling around for nearly 3 weeks. Easy and friendly check in and check out. They make good red wines and you can buy them or take part in a wine tasting very nicely led by Aurelio. We really recommend Basileo Vini if you like small, authentic wineries. Alfredo’s wife Maria cooks the best local food and you absolutely must try her simple, delicious cuisine. Ask in advance if it is possible to book a dinner (30€ per person).
We will definitely be back. Grazie!

Maybe only one little think worth knowing is that due to the remote location in Tramonti sometimes the WiFi connection is very weak.

Em va agradar No need to go back to our hometown in Philippines just to experience the weather and the way of life because in this place is what exactly we are looking for. We fell in love with the place, Alfredo and the rest of the family including the cleaning lady means a lot to us, even though we dont speak their language but being there feels we really belong in that place, so safe and you can feel the calmness of the mountain, feeling at home and feeling of belongingness and family, we loved you❤️ we will go back again next year. For the 3rd time around😀😀😀

Em va agradar Aurelio and his family are wonderful hosts and make you feel right at home. The location is great and also cools down a bit at night since it's higher up in the mountains. Your tent can be placed under the canopy of trees/vines, there is a hot shower available and parking is on the premises.

Em va agradar Perfect host - so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Great location for Amalfi. Ability to rent scooters even on a Sunday was invaluable. Lots of dogs which we love! Big pitch. Facilities cleaned regularly.

Take a wander round the white buildings of Amalfi, dipping into the cool spaces of the ninth-century cathedral in the heat of the day, or catch a boat from the harbour over to Salerno, Positano and Capri, or to the blue caverns of the Grotto dello Smeraldo, all spots as memorable for the journeys as the end destinations. For another perspective on the famed coast, make for hilltop Ravello, also half an hour away, and the terraced tropical gardens of the Villa Rufolo, home of popes and kings. For a break from the coast, you could try the Footpath of the Gods, a modestly named stretch of the Lattari mountains starting out in Bomerano, an hour and 10 minutes away, where old mule tracks meander along ridges past woodlands and locals carrying harvests on their backs as if the Romans never left. Roman life in all its daily detail and tragedy is laid out for the crowds at Pompeii, an hour away; afterwards, take a trip up to see the crater of the volcanic culprit Vesuvius, then soak up civilisation, street food and culture in Naples, also an hour away. Don't miss out on Pompeiian frescoes in the archaeological museum, precious Caravaggios in the Palazzo Reale di Capodimonti, and indisputably the best pizza in the world.
