Castles, animal parks, vineyards, gastronomy and hikes… it’s easy to list off the sweet parts of the Indre-et-Loire and handily, Camping la Vallee de I’Indre is just the place to soak it all in. Owned by the friendly Julie and Lionel, this Indre Valley site is all ready for relaxation with wooded surroundings and the Indre river flowing through the foot of the site (full of pretty fish, by the way). It’s pretty hush at this three-hectare site, which makes for some quality relaxation for family, friends or couples. At the same time, you won’t have to pass up on the city life, as Tours is only 20 minutes' drive away. As for shops and eateries on a smaller scale, the centre of the local village is under 10 minutes’ walk away. Thanks to the site's central location, you’ll be well-based for both cultural and sporting activities… so some of your excursions might include castles, animal parks and leisure parks. Wine aficionados will be happy to find that as well as all of those vineyards around the region, the site has one of its own. You’ll also be able to get your hands on a rented bicycle at the site, a simple way to whizz off and familiarise yourself with all the local sights.

Je ne comprends pas bien votre notation notamment concernant si le camping est adapté aux enfants. il est vrai qu'en ce moment les enfants étant à l'école ils ne peuvent pas être au camping :) , mais lorsque c'est les vacances scolaires tout ou presque est fait pour eux comme la pataugeoire à la piscine, les jeux à ressort, les structures gonflables, les trampolines, la piscine, la mini ferme, le mini-golf, etc.......

Enfin concernant "le staff" que vous n'avez pas aimé, nous nous sommes pas vu pendant les 2 nuits ou vous étiez là, il me semble que vous avez eu comme tout le monde un bon accueil par moi-même le patron du camping, alors après si c'est parce que vous avez rayez votre caravane parce que vous avez forcé le passage à un endroit votre remarque est totalement déplacé et nous nous invitons dans ce cas là à ne pas revenir chez nous car ici c'est un camping familiale ou toutes les personnes de bonne fois sont les bienvenus ;)

Em va agradar: We booked a pitch that included the private bathroom facilities even though we had everything in our motorhome. This proved to be a good idea as we really appreciated the extras. Location close to a decent shopping area, reasonably priced fuel and vet meant less time was spent on these chores and more time on our holiday. Location on the banks of the river Indre was excellent, the people running the site were very friendly and could speak good English. Their attitude was always positive and added to the pleasant atmosphere.

Em va agradar: Nice site, very friendly staff. Little animal park which was a nice bonus to the site. Local market every Tuesday at the site enterance. Overall a very nice place.

No em va agradar: We booked a motorhome pitch with private shower and toilet facilities, but upon arrival whilst booking in I was told I had to pay a £250 deposit for the use of the private bathroom. During our booking of the stay there was no mention of this £250 deposit, so it is important that Pitch Up and the campsite make visitors aware of this, if they have booked a pitch with private bathroom.It sort of took the novelty of having a private bathroom away from our stay. We then had to have the bathroom checked before we left to make sure our deposit was returned.

Del gerent: bonjour et merci d'avoir apprécié le site, toutefois lorsque nous vous confions un bloc sanitaire privatif tout neuf il est normal de prendre une caution afin que vous en preniez soin comme s'il était à vous, ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas. Nous avons déjà eu des blocs sanitaire rendu dans un état lamentable, c'est pour cela que nous vérifions à la sortie. Je pense que si un jour vous louez votre maison, vous prendrez une caution et vous vérifierais à la sortie l'état de votre maison. Enfin pour le rapport qualité-prix vous mettez 1 étoile , vous avez payez la nuit 39,5€ avec douche, wc, cuisine avec évier et frigo ainsi qu'un micro, table picnic avec parasol le tout privatif, alors qu'un emplacement nu vaut 26€ la nuit, je crois que pour 13,5€ de différence ça les vaut bien sinon c'ets que l'on marche sur la tête.

Em va agradar: The site is lovely, very peaceful, clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were allowed to choose our pitch and settled by the river, an idyllic spot. A nice sized pitch, the site is next to a riverside bar and the village is very close by with a great patisserie. We only had an overnight stop, would definitely like to come back and stay longer.

Em va agradar: Layout and location is very good- lovely setting with great walking and cycling areas.
This site is well proportioned and had an excellent toilet/ shower/washing block.
Nice friendly welcome and no issues.
Swimming pool is nice to cool off.

No em va agradar: Swimming pool is on the small side given the size of the camp. It was very popular and was always overcrowded.
Obviously being mid August, it was a peak time to book- and one late afternoon- there was no hot water at all.

Llocs d'interès

Sometimes you just want to stick close to your nest and that’s more than okay here… Montbazon (10 minutes’ walk) has a small fortress and it’s the gateway to a fair few walks, including the riverside Indre à Vélo route and The Way of Saint James. A simple car or bike ride can go a long way too, whether that's over to the Arboretum de la Martinière (10 minutes’ drive), laser games at Laser Game Evolution Tours (15 minutes), the family-friendly rides at Lulu Parc (20 minutes), the Château de Candé (10 minutes) or canoeing and kayaking on the Val de l'Indre (five minutes). Of course, there's a whole league of castles around too, especially the splendid Château de Villandry (25 minutes). There's no shortage of bicycle rentals and bike tours either (or the more unusual go-kart tours) and it’s no surprise when you consider all the beauty spots in the Loire Valley. Where to whisk out the wheels? Perhaps the Cave of Goupillières (25 minutes) for a Touraine cavern? Amboise (40 minutes) for castles and Da Vinci’s former home? While hiking and biking stick to the ground, you’ll take on the treetops on the obstacle courses at Gadawi Park (15 minutes). As for animals, there’s the Safari Train (40 minutes) and ZooParc de Beauval (50 minutes).
