Fuss-free holidaying on the coast is what this place is all about: you’re 10 minutes’ amble from la mer, and this lush green glampsite is well set up for most of what your good self should need on hol.
Comfy, cosy and highly stylish, the Mongolian yurts at Camping Mer et Yourtes are settled snugly in the Bay of Morlaix, within easy reach of all sorts of holiday options like boat trips to the Île de Batz and sampling freshly caught seafood eats around the pretty old coastal commune of Roscoff, 15 minutes' drive away.
Accommodation at the site is all in yurts, decorated with traditional motifs and furnished with traditional Mongolian furniture. Each is kitted out with kitchen utensils, a fridge and a microwave, heating and outdoor furniture.
There’s heaps of grassy roaming space here for tiddlers to run about and let off steam, and a playground too should they feel like a swing or a clamber. While they’re off thoroughly entertaining their small selves, grownups can settle back to sample an assortment of locally caught seafood specialities at the on-site restaurant, washing morsels down with a crisp local tipple or two.

Seafood specialities aplenty are in this site’s local area: the coastal commune of Roscoff – famed for its pretty timber-framed buildings and boat-filled harbour – has streets filled to the gills with good restaurants serving locally caught fish and other regional produce.
Head to Roscoff's port for a swift boat trip out to the Île de Batz; most visitors make a beeline for its exotic garden, on the south east of the island, as it’s famed for housing more than 2,000 plant species from five of the world’s seven continents. Aside from this, other of the island’s many draws include lots of beaches, leisurely coastal walks and smashing views from the top of its 19th-century lighthouse.
If you’re in the market for a preen and a pamper, several thalassotherapy centres are within a short drive, a good one being over in Roscoff with sea-view massage suites for max relaxation factor. Otherwise, drive over to Saint-Pol-de-Léon (five minutes) or Morlaix (15 minutes) to stroll around narrow streets, sample more local gastronomy and take in a few more urbanised sights.
