Hikers, bikers and wildlife watchers: get your boots laced up, your cycling self ready and your keenest eagle-eyed expression prepped, for you can be doing the lot within minutes of leaving Auvergne's Camping La Bageasse. A full 18 hiking trails are in the surroundings of this green site edged by valleys and hills, mountains and streams, along with nine cycling trails and access to the world-famed pilgrimage route of the St James's Way, a few kilometres away at the Basilica of St. Julien in Brioude. There's summer swimming and fishing of the Allier river within a couple of hundred metres too, or just dreamily wandering the riverbanks along as much as you fancy of the Allier's mighty 421 kilometres… La Bageasse is in the Auvergne's Haute-Loire department, under 10 minutes' drive from the medieval village of Lamothe. It has loads of leisure options for your amusement for when you're not out hiking, cycling or boating: the site has a summer pool and paddling pool, free wifi, a playground, a pétanque court and a TV and games room. Regular entertainment runs in July and August, and a kids' club runs twice a week. A snack bar is open in high season for quick and light bites. You can pick up groceries and local produce at the food shop, and at the Saturday morning market in Brioude.

Em va agradar: The location was stunning. And Brioude was gorgeous. Market day is Saturdays. Good size pitches. Private with screening hedges and lots of mature trees for shade. The toilets and showers were alway clean when I used them. The shower set up had a small shelf & pegs away from the shower. Good sized pool, very popular with families. The snack bar was good. Limited menu, but the burgers were delicious. You must book or be disappointed. Cocktail bar was also good next door. Very relaxed vibes.

No em va agradar: Unfortunately, you couldn’t take a dog onto the riverbank. Which meant that we couldn’t take advantage of the river, this was very disappointing, as that was the main reason we chose this site.

Em va agradar: Easy access from motorway and well signed , the facilities are immaculate and two lots of them so not overcrowded. The setting is lovely , a tiered site on the banks of the river with grass area and beach to use . You can swim in the river in a special roped off area , you can also hire pedals and canoes . The pool was nice , not huge but again very clean and pleasant temperature for a dip when it’s hot . All the staff were very friendly and were patient with my limited French , we ate at the on-site bar/restaurant with the encouragement of the chef who made good attempts in English to explain the menu , he was very good and welcoming 😊 Nice east walk into town , very pretty , lots bars and restaurants. Considering the price of 45€ fit two nights , amazing value!

No em va agradar: We had thunderstorms while we were there and some pitches did get muddy but ours was on a higher level so no problem not really a fault of site in exceptional weather , also be aware you need a very long electric cable , it is stated on web but make sure you have enough!

Em va agradar: Lovely staff, quiet and clean site. Handy for a night stopover en route to Spain. Swimming pool and restaurant were very welcome after a long drive. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Em va agradar: Lovely location right by the river and some picturesque medieval villages to visit in the surrounding hills. Our pitch was large, level and shaded by mature trees. It was easy to manouvre into. We enjoyed our meal at the restaurant on site. Make sure you follow the signposts to the site as our satnav tried to send us down a road that is no longer a through road but the site is well signposted from Brioude so that's not a problem. Wi-Fi available at reception. Toilets are single sex and have toilet roll and soap. There is a lovely outdoor pool with comfortable sun loungers.

No em va agradar: Unusually we weren't given a map by reception and the road doesn't go round in a circle so it was a bit confusing initially. Most of the historic tourist attractions don't open until some time in July.

Em va agradar: Loved the setting of the campsite next to the river, the pitches were very generous with plenty of shade. It had a great swimming pool with the water the perfect temperature. Check in was very straight forward and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Itineraris

On the A75 take Exit 20 if you are coming from the north or Exit 22 from south. Continue on the RN102 towards Brioude and follow the signs to the campsite.

Llocs d'interès

On and off water, on land and way up in trees… adventuring of all sorts is easily accessed from here. There's wild swimming and fishing in the Allier river in July and August, boat trips within three kilometres, and rafting and kayaking within seven. Tennis, archery and rock climbing are all four kilometres away; a treetop adventure park, Parc Aventure Langeac, is half an hour's drive from the site. Camping La Bageasse is three kilometres from the fab old town of Brioude, home of the also-fab Basilica of St. Julien, the biggest Christian church in Auvergne and a stopoff (or setting-out point) of the St James's Way (if you do desire to hike the rest of the path from here, it's only about 1,200 kilometres from Brioude to where the route winds up at Spain's Santiago de Compostela). From Brioude, wander along the river and cross the bridge at Vieille-Brioude for handsome valley views, or drive the short distance to the pretty little town of Lavaudieu to the south east, on the Sanouire river. From nearby Langeac, take the spectacular tourist train journey through the Allier gorges to Langogne, or sort a horse ride through the surrounding landscape from the town tourist office.

Admissió

Els menors de 18 anys han d'estar acompanyats pels pares o tutors legals.
Només podreu entrar al càmping després de registrar-vos a recepció.
Qualsevol persona que passi la nit al càmping haurà de presentar el document d'identitat a recepció i completar els tràmits necessaris.

Arribades i sortides

Les arribades tardanes s'han de notificar al càmping al més aviat possible. La vostra reserva queda garantida durant 24 hores. Un cop passat aquest temps, la direcció es reserva el dret de rellogar la vostra unitat.
No s'ofereixen reembossaments/descomptes per les inclemències metereològiques, les arribades tardanes ni les sortides anticipades.

General

El bar (i/o el restaurant) està obert del 15/05 al 15/09.
En cas que tingueu alguna queixa, parleu amb recepció de seguida. Aquelles queixes que no hagueu presentat a l'administració durant la vostra estada no es podran resoldre un cop hagueu marxat del càmping.
La direcció es reserva el dret de refusar l'accés o posar fi a l'estada d'aquells hostes que presentin un comportament inapropiat. En tal cas, no s'oferirà cap reembossament.
Les activitats i l'entreteniment estan disponibles del 04/07 al 22/08.
Les ràdios, els reproductors de música i els televisors s'han de mantenir a baix volum. Les portes i els maleters dels vehicles s'han de tancar amb cura.
No es poden fer servir targetes de descompte ni targetes de regal per efectuar reserves a través de Pitchup.com.
S'ha de respectar el silenci absolut entre les 22:00 i les 7:00.

Gossos

Els gossos han d'estar fermats i vigilats en tot moment.

Parcel·les

Les unitats no es poden desallotjar abans del previst, tret que s'hagi arribat a un acord amb la direcció. Parleu amb recepció si us cal marxar, ja que es cobra una multa pels allotjaments que s'hagin desallotjat sense supervisió.

Piscina

L'accés a la piscina està reservat als hostes del càmping.
La piscina exterior està oberta del 01/06 al 30/09 (segons les condicions meteorològiques).

Recepció

La recepció està oberta de 9:00 a 12:00 i de 14:00 a 19:00 entre el 02/03 i el 02/11.

Seguretat

Es permet fer barbacoes sempre que no es facin directament al terra i hi hagi un adult que les vigili en tot moment.
Està prohibit fer fogueres.
Està prohibit portar armes de foc.

Vehicles

El preu només inclou un vehicle si viatgeu amb caravana o tenda de campanya. Si viatgeu amb autocaravana/càmper i voleu portar un vehicle addicional, cal que seleccioneu el cost extra corresponent.
Està prohibit que els vehicles circulin de 23:00 a 7:00.
No s'admeten vehicles de doble eix al càmping.

Visites

Els vehicles de les visites no tenen accés autoritzat al càmping.
Els visitants han de registrar-se a recepció i pagar una taxa d'accés.
