This is a park perfectly placed for sand and vino fans: Domaine de Soulac is in the famed wine region of Médoc, within day trip distance of Bordeaux, and a few kilometres from the fine white sands of spectacular Atlantic beaches. Wine châteaux trips, bike tours along the cycle path to Verdon or sunbathing on the fine sands of Amélie or Naïades beaches are all available nearby.
Domaine de Soulac is at the northernmost tip of the Médoc peninsula in the Gironde department, at the end of a long strip of Atlantic coast beaches stretching down towards the Spanish border. Its local town of Soulac-sur-Mer is a Côte d'Argent resort popular for its sands and surf, with plenty of flat and family-friendly cycling routes in the countryside surrounding. Royan is 12 kilometres away.
You might, however, decide to stick around on site for some time first. For among the swish facilities here are a health and wellbeing centre, two heated outdoor pools (both lifeguarded), a waterslide, massaging waterjets and free summer kids’ clubs… and a bar, restaurant and takeaway for when you need to top up on food and drinks.
Pony rides can be arranged on site.

Le Domaine de Soulac's closest beach from its Médoc peninsula setting is Amélie, a family-friendly lifeguarded setting with shallow waters for summer paddling. Naïades and Centre beaches nearby are also lifeguarded in peak season and have a variety of watersports to try; a good surf shop is at Naïades.
This is excellent cycling territory too, set among the 500+ kilometres of bike paths and 435 kilometres of urban trails and lanes that cross the Gironde department. Start off at Soulac-sur-Mer for the 130-kilometre bike route running along to Cap Ferret, or check out the couple of thousand kilometres of Gironde hiking trails, much of which can be mountain biked too.
Vino fans can find info at the Soulac-sur-Mer tourist office on the wine châteaux of the Medoc region to the town's south-east, as well as details of opening hours and suggestions on the best route to take.
The fine wines, châteaux and shopping of Bordeaux are within about 90 kilometres from Soulac.
