Sand between your toes or pretty snowy scenes… whatever time of year you visit, an abundance of nature will greet you at Arden Parks Tulderheyde, a five-minute drive from Poppel and on the Belgium-Netherlands border. This peaceful Flanders site is in a wooded area and sandwiched between some gorgeous nature reserves, so it’s a real haven for walkers and cyclists. It's set up with its own swimming pond and sandy beach, too, so lazy days by the water are just as achievable as treks through the trees. The pond is the centrepiece here, and the whole family can have a splash thanks to a shallow part that's suitable for the nippers. The surrounding sandy area is also set up for all sorts; youngsters can blow off steam on the sizeable playground, while older folk can nip to the cocktail bar in between lounging sessions. No need to trek far for the loo either – there are toilets and changing facilities at the beach. If you’re all lazed out, pick up the pace with some sports. Will it be football, tennis, pétanque or a whizz around the miniature golf course? If you can’t decide, take up with the entertainment team, who are on hand to organise activities during high season. Evenings can be just as action-packed with things like bingo, karaoke and dancing. For safe and secure stays, the site is accessed by barriers that require access codes.

Don’t have children but can imagine children would enjoy the beach area.

No em va agradar We were put right next to the toilets, which was very very loud. Come 10pm the toilets were so loud with people congregating and shouting, this went on every night (3 night stay) until about 1am

Men’s toilets stunk of stale urine. No one it would seem would flush the urinals.
Female toilets clean enough but had men and women and children in there. For only two showers and 4 toilets became quite busy. Also the toilets didn’t seem to have hand soap.

We do find it unfortunate that you did not report these issues to our reception during your stay. If we had known about the noise during your very first night, we could have intervened immediately and addressed the situation with the guests involved. We always encourage our guests to contact us when something is disturbing them, so that we have the opportunity to resolve it while they are still staying with us.

Regarding the sanitary facilities, our cleaning team comes by twice a day, as is common on campsites, to clean and maintain the facilities. Unfortunately, we cannot control whether guests flush the toilets or urinals after use. If urinals are left unflushed, this can naturally cause an unpleasant smell, and we are sorry that you experienced this.

We also understand your comment about the facilities becoming busy. During peak periods, our sanitary facilities can indeed be more heavily used, and we continuously monitor their condition throughout the day.

As for the hand soap, this is certainly something we take seriously and will check more closely to make sure it is available whenever needed.

We are sorry that you left with a negative impression of your stay. At the same time, we would have appreciated the opportunity to address these concerns during your visit. A quick report at reception would have allowed us to take action, particularly regarding the nighttime noise.

We nevertheless thank you for your feedback, as it helps us remain attentive to the experience of our guests.

Good value, good facilities, would definitely go back.

Em va agradar The whole site is so well laid out. The lake and children’s play area is brilliant. Beach bar makes you feel like you are in Spain or Italy, especially this week on the high temperatures.
We originally booked for one night and then extended our stay!

Em va agradar Gli spazi molto grandi, il laghetto balneabile, la posizione invidiabile, la gentilezza e la disponibilità dello staff.

No em va agradar I bagni erano un po' pochi per tutti i campeggiatori e avrebbero avuto bisogno di essere puliti più spesso, spesso mancava anche la carta igienica.

For adventures further afield, make the most of your position on the Belgium-Netherlands border for a bit of city-hopping. Stick with Belgium and head to Antwerp (an hour’s drive), or cross the border into the Netherlands and see what Tilburg (half an hour), Breda (40 minutes) or Eindhoven (45 minutes) have to offer. You could also pack up the car and set off an a family day out. The fantasy-themed amusement park Efteling is 35 minutes away, while Bobbejaanland theme park is 50 minutes. For a bit of educational entertainment, get stuck into the hands-on exhibits at the Technopolis science museum (an hour and 10 minutes). Or, if you fancy some animal encounters, there’s Safaripark Beekse Bergen (25 minutes) and Olmense Zoo (55 minutes) to choose from.
