The Bower at Broulee

Eyes on some awesome activities? Bush walks, picnics and birdwatching are right by the site in Illawong Nature Reserve or you might like to hike to Duncan’s Drop Lookout (25 minutes’ walk) or the Broulee Lookout (half an hour) for some more splendid vistas. The coast has plenty more for you to throw yourselves into, from snorkelling and kayaking in the splendid shallow lagoon at Tomakin Cove (five minutes’ drive) to riding the swells at Broulee beach (10 minutes' walk). Handily, Broulee Surf School (20 minutes) will help any newbies out with tips, tricks and boards. If it’s the fish you have your eyes on rather than the waves, then there are some top snorkelling and diving spots surrounding this beach too. As for ball games, there’s plenty of space for that along Bengello beach (five minutes' drive) alongside Broulee. Back to the land, cool animals can be tracked down at Mogo Wildlife Park (10 minutes) or markets and a museum in the riverside town of Moruya (10 minutes). Then, there’s the Clyde River National Park (half an hour), where kayaking, fishing, canoeing and swims are all spectacular.
