Right by a river in Snowdonia National Park… that sounds just pretty perfect. Gwynedd's Tyn Cornel Camping is on the banks of the River Tryweryn, right next to the National White Water Centre for those whose Welsh holiday requirements include whitewater rafting, and four miles from more watery antics at Bala Lake. Mountain biking, climbing and hiking are easy to access from here too – and as you might expect in this part of the world, this woodland-bordered site is set in spectacularly scenic surrounds… If you're not feeling overly active, have a hol here to be within reach of the attractions of the national park and into the whole of north Wales: the area is packed with castles, museums, historic houses, steam railways, handsome old villages and – most important – Michelin-starred eating out for foodies. Tyn Cornel has modern and well-kept facilities, including free hot showers, a laundry and a covered washing-up area. Dogs are welcome and there's an exercise area where they can let off steam. Barbecues are encouraged across the whole site: just use them on the blocks provided to raise them off the ground.

Em va agradar Spacious hard standing pitch with a good distance between pitches. A very pleasant warm welcome by the owner, this was my first time pitching with a campervan the site’s toilet and showers was very clean with very good warm water

Em va agradar Everything was amazing. I would say one of the best places where we stayed. Nice area , good service , welcomed people. Always hot water available. Clean area, toilets. Offering fresh milk with different flavours. They got a little shop there as well.

Em va agradar The staff are great, campsite is always lovely and clean.
So peaceful.

Has a coffee machine, ice cream machine and milk/milkshake machine.

We were even delighted with a pizza van! Freshly made it was gorgeous.

Em va agradar My girlfriend and I decided to dip our toes into the world of naturism and decided that Wrekin view ticked all the boxes for our first time experience. After being greeted at the gate by a seasoned veteran member(who is an absolute legend by the way as is his wife) we were shown around the beautifully kept 5 acre site. Instantly feeling welcomed and exceptionally uninhabited - the clothes came off and the freedom felt like nothing we'd experienced before. Without judgement from anyone and a real feeling of a close family community we were welcomed in by all. We are now addicted and cannot wait for the new season to begin so we can make the next of many many more visits to come.
We made some new friends, met some incredible people and now consider ourselves fledged naturists with an urge to go back and explore our new found sense of freedom. Can't wait to see you again Wrekin View x

Em va agradar Very well managed and maintained site within five miles of Bala. Well spaced van pitches with plenty of waste and recycling bins conveniently sited. Friend,y managers and the the drinks and ice cream vending machines were a big hit with our grandkids!

Tyn Cornel Camping is in prime position for exploring Snowdonia National Park, whether you're after an active holiday in north Wales or want to chill in spectacular surroundings with occasional trips out to local attractions. For active types, the National White Water Centre is metres away; the river rapids run past the site and a river access ramp is on site. If you've never tried whitewater rafting before this is the place to do it, as well as to tackle kayaking or canoeing year-round. For more action, Zip World and Bounce Below are all a short trip away. Walks? Pick from an easy riverside walk straight from the site, the craggy local peak of Arenig Fawr, or ascents like Snowdon or Cadair Idris within easy driving distance. For biking, some of the UK's best-rated mountain biking trails including Coed y Brenin and Penmachno are within a 30-minute drive, while for road cycling the area is filled with quiet, winding country roads, some stiff climbs and consistently fab views. Family cycling trips can be had at the Mawddach Trail, Llandegla or Llyn Brenig. The Tyn Cornel team also highly recommends castles including Harlech Castle and Criccieth Castle on the coast; the local narrow-gauge railways with spectacular views including the famed Snowdon Mountain Railway and the local Bala Lake Railway; the Italianate setting and buildings of Portmeirion village; the local ales, pub food, takeaways or fine restaurant meals in Bala; Michelin-starred fine dining at Tyddyn Llan or Llandrillo…
